I promise you that she doesn't want to do the housework but rather needs to do the housework.

Maybe what she really wants is for you you do the housework? ;) :p
Haha no doubt. I don't mind keeping the house nice and clean but not during my Sunday big breakfast/catch up on all things SCS time. I'm more of a mid-late arvo cleaner personally :D

Your a better person than me as I HATE housework and do it out of necessity. That's why like your wife I prefer to get it out of the way early so I can relax for the rest of the day (e.g. catch up on all things SCS) in the knowledge that all tasks have been done.:D

I just send them all to the in-laws on the weekend and have the whole house to myself to do things like catch up on SCS. Then, the only housework that needs doing is to remember to take the empty beer stubbies out to the bin before they return home...LOL! :p

I am after some advice/help on team structure and expected average points per positions.

Before I select my team I list out all of the positions and what I expect (hope) to get as an average out of that position. This way when I select my team i try and make sure that the player I select in any position can achieve the average I want for that position (or they are not considered to be a keeper).

Where I am after some help is what are the averages that I should be looking for in each position? I am not sure that I have these right. When I add up all of my "expected averages" across the 22 positions on the field I get a total of 2300 points. Is this too high... not high enough?

D: D1 105, D2 100, D3 100, D4 96, D5 92, D6 85
M: M1 118, M2 117, M3 116, M4 115, M5 110, M6 105, M7 103, M8 100
R: R1 115, R2, 105
F: F1 110, F2 105, F3 105, F4 100, F5 100, F6 90

Just my opinion.
I'd want more from my D6. There were 11 Defs that went 92+ in 2015, I'd lift to equal your D5 at 92.
There were 20 Mids go 105+ in 2015, maybe your M6, 7, 8 should be 108, 107, 105
I don't think any Fwds will go 110 this year, and there were 16 that went 95+ in 2015. I'd bump F6 to 95, and lower F1 to 108.

You need to have a X2 captain score in your projection, this takes you to 2400+ which is what you would want (at least) from a fully upgraded team.

You could probably use averages from the past couple of years as a rough guide?

I thought about doing that but wasn't 100% certain how. For example the 8th Mid last season averaged 113 but it just seemed over the odds to list M8 at 113.

With Captain score my end team now totals 2432.... If I could select a team that would average this is would be a miracle and probably a winning team.

Pearcey what was you average points per round last season? curious to know what a team would need to average each week to be in it at the pointy end of the season

Using what I have listed as well as a few adjustments based on the feedback from Rowsus I think I am fairly close to what I was after and it has helped me get my team closer to where it needs to be.

Is the instant notification by email for Subscribed threads working for anyone else? I didn’t seem to be getting the emails.

Not a straightforward answer but here goes:
Total average - 2,235.87 points per game over 23 rounds, split as follows:
Rounds 1-10 = 2,213.2 per game (rank after rd 10 = 178)
Rounds 11-14 = 1,997.0 per game (3 bye rounds and best 18 round when ADE v GEE was cancelled) - rank after rd 14 = 10
Rounds 15-21 = 2,432.0 per game (rank after rd 21 = 63)
Rounds 22-23 - 2,141 per game (really dropped off in the last 2 rounds due to lack of trades) - final rank 163

So if you have a complete team I think you need to average around 2,450 per game to really hold your place in the top 500 or so.

Thanks for that. Great info.

Biggest take out for me is to target a team that can produce 2213 per week for the first 10 rounds and if you pull that off you are likely to be in the mix.

Leader after 10 rounds the past few years had:
2012 - 23,209
2013 - ??
2014 - 22,084
2015 - 22,874
So each season is a fair bit different.

If you're going to make a guess on each player's average over say those 10 rounds...would you use a blanket score over all rookies? (e.g. 60) or would you scale them down based on perceived skill level/scoring potential?

H&A games since 2007 - Nathan Jones and K. Simpson (193). J. McVeigh and S. Thompson (Adel) next best with 190. #SuperCoach #AFLFantasy

I would scale them individually. You would expect a mid rookie to outscore a def rookie most times

True. And in the case of 'along lines' (i.e. say 5 rookies along the MID line) would you look at scaling them too?

Brisbane are prepared to offer Pick 2 Josh Schache a five year deal before he has played a senior game.
Swann said it was Brisbane’s intention to try to lock the key forward away on a long-term deal.
It is unusual for a draftee to be given such a long contract, especially before they have played a game.
