Solid team benocho. I would consider upgrading Crouch and one of either Hopper, Parish or Simpkin into a keeper at F4 and a lower priced rookie in the mids. Bennell is also one you might have to watch as I understand he is still not in full training.

My team leading into the NAB Cup.

D: Shaw, Kolodjashnij, Rampe, Smith D/M, Brown (WCE), Heatherley - Hartley, Adams D/F
M: Fyfe, Dangerfield, Ablett, Rockliff, Liberatore, Gresham, Jansen, Hewett - Clayton M/D, Cunningham, Redman M/F
R: Goldstein, Jacobs - King R/F
F: Martin F/M, Barlow F/M, Tippett F/R, Greene F/M, Kerridge F/M, Petracca F/M - Pickett, Brown (ESS) F/D

I have gone with a 4/0/4, 4/1/6, 2/0/1, 4/0/4 structure and attempted to maximise flexibility with dual positions.
While rookies are open to change, the team currently is sitting with an 8/11/11 bye structure.

Any feedback or suggestions are welcome!

Chasing, I reckon you might be correct about mid overkill - means your defence looks extremely thin - may also result in you missing out on some better scoring rookies, which are usually found in the midfield.

Yeah I think so to. I don't like Aish at d4 it has always been rampe. You don't feel like your mids are to light on though?

I might be a bit light on and would normally go with 5 premiums and no mid-pricers in the midfield. However, if Liberatore gets through the pre-season unscathed, I will be happy to take the risk of having him as my M5. If not, my other option would be to replace Jacobs with a Lobbe type, which I am not keen on and then make Liberatore a Sloane, Wines or Shiel type.

Can't see anything I'd change if your happy with those picks. Nice balance across all lines, and if we find the right balance of starting rookies come rnd 1 ,I'd say this structure will hold up well

35k left.

Wanted to create a team that fits wells in somewhere.
Brought in Eski but tbh happy with 3-0-5 defence if i need to bring in a couple high priced mid rookies to kick off.

My Team so far not sure if I've gone to mid price/risk with having all of eski, libba, crouch, lobbe and wells.

Any comments welcomed have a grand total of $6,700 left in the kitty but would ultimately like a playing R3

I think a player has to stand up on his own as a good pick and if Lobbe wasn't a ruckman would you still pick him? The other 4 all have good claims but of those 4 I prefer Libba and Wells. If you get stuck with them underperforming at least they will help you get to 18 players during the byes because they are in the 2nd and 3rd week.

That's a bloody scary round 1 midfield. Arguably 6 of the top 8 right off the bat. Biggest worry must be that basically all your rookies are basement price. Think we're going to need some of the Hipwoods/Hoppers/Cockatoos of the world as starting rookies this year. Can't fault that side other then that.

Mid: Ablett, Rockliff, Dangerfield, Wines, Libba, Mitchell, Rookie, Rookie (Rookie, Rookie)
Ruck: Martin, Goldstein (Currie)

Took out Pendles to fit in Goldstein, would like Wells if possible, but can't seem to find the cash.

Any suggestion would be great.

An option to free up cash is Birch down to Smith. As I posted yesterday Birchall appears to be a 85-90 player based on his last 3 years and is not getting any younger. You'd think Smith would be a decent punt to match him.

Otherwise, looking at your side with only 5 true on field rookies I suspect you will end up culling Wines or Crouch down to a rookie allowing you to sort out Lobbe (if you wanted) and spend more across your bench. My gut feeling is as we get closer to R1 we are all going to be forced to spend more on our benches a la Currie and the 6 deep midfields will disappear. always seems to happen ..

As BigRuss said, that looks a great "ideal world where heaps of base priced rookies turn up" team but my gut feeling is you will eventually need to spend more on your rookies.

Might just have to make an allowance to fit Wells in (e.g. Sandi down to Lobbe for example)
