Defence: Koladjashnig, Bartel, Williams, Rookie, Rookie, Rookie (Rookie, Rookie)
Mid: Ablett, Rockliff, Dangerfield, Wines, Libba, Mitchell, Rookie, Rookie (Rookie, Rookie)
Ruck: Martin, Goldstein (Currie)
Forward: Deledio, Martin, Franklin, Barlow, Rookie, Rookie (Rookie, Rookie)

Took out Pendles to fit in Goldstein, would like Wells if possible, but can't seem to find the cash.

Any suggestion would be great.
Like I have suggested to others I'd be trialling options with 3 on field mid rookies. That should allow Wells and then removal of one def rookie. I'd remove one of Wines and Mitchell. In fact, then you could upgrade the remaining one back to Pendles.

DEF: Laird, Simpson, Yeo, M Brown, Hartley, K Collins (S Collins, M Brown)
MID: Fyfe, Pendles, Abblet, Rocky, Wines, Libba, Kerridge, Sumner (Bailic, Freeman, Keays)
R: Martin, Sandi (King)
F: Dusty, Dahl, Barlow, Harvey, Petracca, Kommer (Ahern, Pickett)

My question is, with $57k left, where do I squeeze in Wells?
I am now a broken record :)

Try options with Wines down to a rookie ... or in your case just go Crouch.

If set on this midfield then I'd be looking Simpson down to Eski or Smith but if you did the cull in the mids I think you will find Goldy is affordable, Wells is in, Trengove in etc

I'm not really interested in Goldy at his price to be honest.

Is Sandi a price driven compromise or you genuinely think he's going to match Goldy across the season?
Sandi is pretty consistent. I feel like he can maintain his price while other rucks have off days. Therefore I can sideways to someone like Goldy for a lot less cash then I'd need to spend now

Posting my last team here before NAB matches start so I can have a note of it somewhere.

DEF: Simpson, Bartel, Birchall, Eski, Byrne, Brown (Hartley, Broad)
MID: Danger, Pendles, JPK, Rocky, Libba, Trengove, Gresham, Kerridge (Polkinghorne, Keays, Mathieson)
RUC: Goldy, Martin (King)
FWD: Dusty, Dahlhaus, Barlow, Gray, Wells, Petracca (Grimley, AMT)

Made a few changes to my team. McVeigh down Birchall, KK down to Eski. I think Birch can be good for a 90+ average, may even push up to a 95+. I'm hoping Eski can get back up to a 90-90+ average aswell. Took GAJ out for Danger for now but can easily change it back. Was also 50/50 on JPK/Tmitchell but went with JPK for now. Still uncertain on my F4 Gray/Boomer/Tippett... but went with Sam Gray for the time being.

In all those teams I commented on they were 6 mids deep but seemed to be feeling cash constrained and full of base priced rookies. Dropping a $500-$600K mid seems an easy response or at least worth a try. I think it's better to trial these things now rather than in a panic in the last week when you realize you need to spend more on your rookies, as always seems to happen.

Hondo, what 6 midfield rookies are you looking at? Apart from the pricier options in Mills, Parish, Hopper and Trengove types there is not many midfield rookies under 130k that look like playing games early.

I feel as if right now there is more depth in forward and defensive rookies than previous years and a slight lack of midfield options currently.

Had a team where I had Danger, Pendles, GAJ, JPK, Rocky & Libba.... but that would leave only 2 onfield mid rookies.

As a wise person once said:

In the end it was Danger Vs GAJ for me. But like I said it can be easily changed back to GAJ.

I don't have 6 settled now and in fact in my team I still have Crouch at M6 ironically but Libba M5 and then just the 4 legit premiums. So I guess my thinking is < 5 premium priced mids rather than 6 rookies but I am doubtful that I will persist with both Crouch and Libba.

History says we'll have probably 10 mid rookie options to pick from depending on how much we want to pay. I don't really try to form a fixed view on rookies by position until we seem some pre-season games. Last year we thought there were no defence rookies until the last week before R1 and then we suddenly had 5 to choose from. The change was so rapid I didn't have time to adjust my thinking enough.

In terms of structure I am finding it way easier to work a team and play around with pricier rookies if I don't have a 5th premium mid.

Out of interest, does anyone know where the mid season leader ended up? This was they guy with the big lead that was trading premiums sideways during the byes. Would be interesting to see how far away he fell off the perch.
I'm not 100% sure exactly where he finished but pretty sure it was top 150.

I love it when a plan comes together (not likely my final team, but I wouldn't hate it if it was)

Wow every last penny gone!!!

Bit light on in defence.
Cant see starting the 4 highest mids as a great move as i did that last year and got killed by ablett and rocky getting inj, on the flip side at least you can still get anyone for them
rucks are goldin
deep fwd line id prob go boomer to rookie and a def rookie to birchall type or better

Howdy all , Second team for the year so pick it apart for me and tell me if it works or why not , is my structure going to work for me. This will be probably it till after the NAB cup.

D: Bartel, Langdon , Malceski , A.Otten , M Brown, Hartley (K Collins, A.McDonald Tipu...)
M: Fyfe, Pendles, Gaz, Danger , Rocky , Libba, Kerridge, Gresham ? (Petracca ,Woodward ,Hibberd)
R: Goldy , Jacobs, (Cox)
F: Dusty, Dahl, Barlow, Wells , Thomas , Grimley (Phillips , Adams)

Rookies all subject to change and $15.200 left in kitty ????

Dale Thomas in fwd line? I'd go a rookie in the def line otten potentially? Up to a Birchall, doc, smith type
And dt down to a rookie

Not bad at all. Just think you're too light in DEF however. Reckon Eski at D3 is a concern - no doubt his scoring potential as a proven premium is unquestioned but I think you need one more premo in DEF for a better balance. I think you would have to sacrifice a Fyfe or Danger in the midfield down to Libba and then find a bit of extra cash to upgrade one of your rookies. That would give you better balance.

I'm really surprised there is so much love for Buddy. I just don't know how anyone can ride the Buddy train anymore. He is so inconsistent and those undisciplined acts just won't disappear in his game. I think his consistently large scoring days are behind him and this game is way in favour of the midfield/running types.

Feedback on my team would be greatly appreciated.

DEF: Shaw, KK, Rich, Smith, Cowan, Brown (Bonner, Broad)
MID: Ablett, Pendles, Rockliff, Wines, Libba, Simpkin, Mills, Gresham (Jansen, Polkinghorne, Hibberd)
RUC: Goldstein, Lobbe (King)
FWD: Martin, Dahlhaus, Barlow, Z.Merrett, Kerridge, Petracca (Grimley, Phillips)

$103k leftover.

Hoping the ones in bold will be keepers. Might be a bit wishful on Rich but reckon he has to breakout at some stage, esp with Hanley back and likely to be the no.1 target of oppositions.

Hi SOG, personally I think this is the best structure to go with so well done.

The only thing at this stage that I don't like is Lobbe in R2, I think if you can find some cash from Shaw down and/or Dahlhaus down and Lobbe up to keeper ruck, it would be just about ideal.

Welldone
