I've never had SC Gold, but I can access all the Coaches Choices stats for some reason (not that I'm complaining). Have they given everyone a trial in the preseason?

Few interesting ones for me
Shaw 24.2%
Wells 32.2%
Mills 20.92%
Laird 9.88%
Currie 8% (Grimley & Cox both well over 20%)
Birchall 6.56%
Sheridan now 6%
Lonergan 3.7%
K.Simpson 4.69%

Def
1 Brown M (Ess) - 51%
2 Weitering - 29%
3 Shaw - 24%
4 Aish - 23%
5 Hartley - 20%
6 Yeo - 17%
7 Smith B - 16%
8 Bartel - 15%
9 Collins K - 14%
10 Broad - 13%

Big changes in the backs this week - Brown more popular, Weitering up 14%(!), Hartley back into the top ten with a gain of over 6%, Kolololololo out and Collins K in.

Mid

5 Danger - 32%
6 Pendles - 25%
7 Parish - 25%
8 Mills - 19%
9 Mathieson - 20%
10 Crouch B - 17%

The mid favs tend to be shaking it out in the 6-10 slots - all aboard the Dangertrain up 6%, Parish and Mills firm as rookies both up a couple of %, O'Meara drops out for Mathieson and Crouch B down 5%.

Ruc
1 Cox M - 27%

6 NicNat - 13%
7 Blicavs - 12%
8 Martin - 12%
9 Currie - 8%
10 Vardy - 7%

Unlike last week, there were changes in the rucks this week - Cox up to the fav ruck in place of Lobbe (swaperoo), Gawn is no longer gawn and is now the 5th fav ruck, otherwise a shuffle and Vardy in for Mummy.

Fwd
1 Kerridge - 53%
2 PetRocka - 51%
3 Chopsticks - 44%
4 WellStep? - 33%
5 Barlow - 29%

Thanks for the update PC.

There is a lot more talk of Gawn now, I think somewhat because people have lost faith in Lobbe due to his poor p/s form.

I think if he has another solid hit out today, he will become even more popular.

He has found his way into my team along side Goldy early last week.

Yep the 'GG' (good game?) ruck combo has been in my team for the last couple of weeks as well

DEF: Surprised to see Shaw dominating ownership % amongst the Premiums, with Rance and McVeigh trailing behind by almost half. Interested to see if those taking Shaw will compromise in taking a few of the lower end Premiums and how will this match up against a more even spread of Premiums approach.

MID: It's clear that the BIG 5 plus Libba combination is a clear frontrunner, are you game enough to play the underdog tag?

RUC: Set & Forget looks like the theme here, albeit an expensive one at a minimum of 550k a pop.

FWD: Dusty, Barlow and Buddy is a popular combination with a sprinkle of players from last year performing crop.

Our DEF and FWD lines setup are where most teams are likely to be different. With the likelihood of having a limit pool of rookies to choose from for round 1, I would dare say that our starting on-field rookies group would also rank very high in the popularity stake. The other important consideration, which some have not given much thought to from the teams I've seen published to date is, how viable are our bench rookies? This I believe will be one of the critical determining factor for our SC fortunes this year if the situation doesn't improve on the rookies front. The other important factor I'm feeling at the moment, more so this year, is the need to absolutely nail your premium selections from the get go.

Just thought I'd share some of my thoughts and observations so far whilst picking players for my starting team.

Current top 10 aside from rookie priced players as at 07/03/16

Player, ownership, position last week

1. Liberatore (54.71%) (1)
2. Ablett (47.40%) (2)
3. D Martin (43.78%) (3)
4. Wells (34.98%) (5)
5. Fyfe (34.96%) (6)
6. Rockliff (unknown) (4)
7. Dangerfield (34.01%) (7)
8. Barlow (29.07%) (8)
9. Goldstein (27.00%) (9)
10. Shaw (25.24%) (Re-entry)

Not much happening really. Wells popularity has increased on the back of a great NAB performance. Shaw is back in the top 10 after a dominant display against the Swans. Rocky has dropped a little but that is mainly because of Wells and Fyfe's increasing popularity. Pendles has dropped out of the top 10 but is sitting just outside at number 11.

7/10 for me. I'm annoyed Dangerfield has had such a barnstorming NAB challenge. I was already picking him ahead of Fyfe / Ablett.

Weitering at 29%, just wow! Seems like a lot of teams would be going with him at D4.

9/10 for me with no Libba, 1 more good NAB game from him and I'll be all over him like a wet flannel though. Still debating the Shaw pick too.

Off the back of one NAB Challenge game against Carlton's fellow wooden spoon contenders!
I probably won't start him but hope he goes well in nab3 and then gets lock down roles with the blues tough early run

I think Weitering is popular mostly due to the current paucity of backline rookie choices. For mine 220k for a first year rookie is a straightforward "No".

As for the top 10, in my opinion if you have all 10 then by definition you're already becoming cookie cutter, and more importantly I think you begin to make potentially dangerous compromises across all lines simply due to the sheer expense of taking all 10 along with having to pay up for rookies. I think the key to this year is to nail the best mid-price R2 and to nail the best 500-590k midfielders.
