No worries, curious to hear which one of Kerridge, Kommer or Tipungwuti you consider as a potential keeper?
If Kerridge is an inside mid for Carlton he could easily average 90. He and Cripps would allow Murphy and Gibbs to be the second players in the chain.

Hi freowho ,
Being a freo man can u give any expert insights into young Darcy Tucker , heard some good things but his JS is ??? and is he likely to get a regular gameor at least make a bit of cash.
Is he a half back running type player or a defensive type who will not score well.
Secondly will Morribitto play much this season , appreciate any feedback you can offer

Really close to my final team now. Have around 50k left, but not exactly sure whether to spend it or not. Would love any feedback :)
hi prochard

i dont mind the structure however there are some picks that i would potentially review:
backs are good however im not a fan of birchall. if u were going to consider a hawks player i would try gibo. birchall is too up and down and if he plays well throughout the season get him. however his very risky for me. sheridan laird and bartel are all good picks

mids:
ablett - huge debate there and its really a tough decision.
oli wines - has not shown enough for me. i get he avg 110 before getting injured and port has a good start but he hasnt done enough for me. i would consider parker however i can understand that you have tmitch. the other premos are very good.

rucks:
risky approach with gawn and martin. i think u need gold member as one of your rucks. if u dont get him u might be chasing the points. obviously he scores well but presents as a good vc option. my question is if ablett gets injured, who would you put as your captain options?

fwds:
very good. i would be careful of wingard. someone mentioned that he will be predominately playing fwd however he may go into the midfield. he had a very good year however he may need to kick around 3 goals a game. i really like aaron hall pick. i dont have enough guts to put him in. he is going to get some midfield time and he is playing really well. his a tackling machine. i hope he works out for you.

i like your time, you have some risky picks and it might work for you. best of luck throughout the season.

Love the Dockers but unfortunately not an expert FirstTimer. I haven't lived in WA for many years now and only get to watch them from a distance. It would have to be a pretty special 18 year old to get a game for Ross Lyon and Morabito must be eating a lot of tomatoes with all the inflammation he gets after playing. I wouldn't be relying on either of them.

Tucker is 100/1 to play early. And if he does, they must think he is going to be the next Scotty Pendlebury.

Seriously, I'd set his line at 5 games this year.

Your structure relies heavily on M Crouch being a good pick at his price. He's allowing you to get Greene to F3 but still have Libba M6 and Sheridan D4. I don't mind this set up actually but as said it needs that value mid to work out.

I think I was trying really hard to have a strategy that not many would roll with ... mid priced rucks ... but in the end felt my team was too full with mid pricers. Back to the ol Guns & Rooks strategy.

Backs: Shaw, Laird, Rance, Bartel, Cowan, Hartely, Broad, Tippa

Mids: Fyfe, Dangerfield, Ablett, Rockliff, Parker, Menadue, Gore, Mathieson, Petracca, Hibberd, Macpherson

Rucks: Goldy, Gawn, Currie

Forwards: Martin, Barlow, Hall, Cockatoo, Kerridge, M Brown, McCarthy, Kommer

Obviously rookies are subject to Round 1 selection but keep strategic ones in place for positional rotations. With this strategy you only need to find 2 rookie backs, 3 mids & 3 forwards to play every week.

Surely I can manage that.

Missing the two $200k mid rookies and like I said to someone else earlier why no Libba and Wells? You've spent $400k picking Hall and Parker. Spending $400k equates to 80-90 points do you really think Hall and Parker will give you that over Wells and Libba?

Picking Parker and Hall as keepers saves you 2-4 trades when others are trading out Libba and Wells. If there is enough cash generation with rookies, it should be a viable strategy.

(1) That's if they need trading which is part of the attraction of picking them. If they don't then team's without them are an upgrade behind from the start.

(2) if you invest the $400K in upgrading a rookie in your starting side you've saved 2 trades and if Libba and Wells only need 2 trades it's break even

Even if Wells and Libba go 10ppg less than Hall and Parker you will make up that and more with the extra upgrade you've made somewhere else.

Hi DMC, i feel reluctant to comment based on your results. However i think your backline needs strengthening at the expense of one PREMO mid. I think your FWD's can survive if the rookies prove to be regulars but too much speculation on 3 unproven DEF's.

but hey, could prove to be a masterstroke but history says otherwise. good luck!

Thanks mate, and no any feedback is greatly appreciated. Reasoning behind it is the lack of midfield rookies this year and I don't want to pick $200K rookies who haven't played a game yet, but yes i do agree, backline is vulnerable and needs a bit of luck, but can only hope, I am sure that a spanner will be thrown in the works by round 1 when lots of unknown rookies may get named and ones we thought might don't, just another option for now, thanks again :)

Thanks for that. I'll have a play around and see if I prefer the set up with Libba & better mid rookies.

Not much to argue with here mate. My main concerns would be that Cuningham didn't get a touch in the NAB, and that I'm not sure about leaving Petracca on the bench if it's possible to get a few good price rises out of another rookie before you need to bring him in. I'd try Keays for Cuningham, and perhaps see if there's a way to get Wells in for Petracca without conequences you're unhappy with. Your def is probably as strong as any I've seen, so if you need cash down the track, that's where I would look.

I am finally satisfied with my team. Pending round 1 selection, I don't think I'll touch this team again. Who knows, I am tempted to make all sorts of changes, from POD's to complete restructures, so now is the time for me to be disciplined and back in my selections.

D: Laird, Bartel, Hurn, Sheridan, Hartley, Brown (Broad, Collins)

M: Danger, Pendles, Ablett, Shiel, Rockliff, Libba, Mills, Mathieson (Menadue, Petracca, Davis)

R: Goldstein, Martin (Cox)

F: Martin, Barlow, Merrett, Wells, McCarthy, Kerridge (Grimley, McDonald-Tipungwuti)

Feedback welcomed!
