Really like this team Adrenaline, very similar to my own. It's essentially your Shaw/S.Martin/Wells v my Laird/Gawn/Zorko.

Both have Libba and Mills and m5 and m6 and Sheridan at D4.

Hard to fault, though some may caution you on the perceived injury clouds over Fyfe, GAJ and Rocky...other than that, great job

Thanks experiment it is a very risk free approach. Last year I took some more risks on mid pricers which forced me to trade a lot more aggressively. If Ablett or Fyfe or rocky cannot play round 1, pendles will be in.

i like your structure and i was considering the same kind of structure as well however i think your defence is effected. i am anticipating carlton and essendon will not win a lot of games throughout the season. i dont know if you can rely on players like weitering brown hartly and amt to get you reasonable scores. i think you need someone like a longegan or sheridan and reduce one of your mids for eg parker.

mids look really good. personally im not keen on parish. i dont think he will make enough cash. i prefer mills

rucks are great however is the plan to get goldi?

i like the forward like. grey will be a unique pick and i can see him starting well.

Defence good, Midfield strong, Rucks varies according to everyone's own preference. However, I think your forward line is too risky. Deledio, Bennell, Hall, Wells despite being strong picks individually, when they're all selected at the same time represents enormous risks. Deledio won't play 22 games, Bennell has had a terrible preseason, Hall and Wells have great upsides but are risky picks nonetheless. I'd rather you take controlled and balanced risks rather than attempting to select a team full of PODs that's miles ahead of everyone else if everything goes right.

The backs are light but Heater is overpriced and McVeigh hasn't had enough of a preseason. Simpson I like but have doubts with him at his age. Gibbo could be worth a run maybe. I got a bad feeling for Richmond this year so will avoid Houli and Rance until I'e had a look. Smith and Sheridan as speculatives but I'm bullish on Smith and Sheridan has ticked all the boxes.

Loving the midfield. Most years I go in a premium down and am over 1000 points of the pace by the half way mark. No stuffing around this time. Beam, JPK and Wines on standby for Fyfe, Ablett and Rocky, should they injure themselves. Libba Mills and Kerridge scoring me up in the high 200's should put me up the pointy end

The rucks are a gamble but one worth taking. Witts is a stepping stone into Goldy and hasn't put a foot wrong all summer. Can he last 7 or 8 rounds and make me 90 ppg or better? Here's hoping. I can afford Zac Smith but it drains the last of my funds and I'm consciousof the number of 117k rookies I got. I also want my spare 40k for injury contingencies

Forwards: Liking them. Reckon Lids is overpriced for the number of games he'll play. Martin has me a bit worried and I never liked him up over 550k anyway. Bennell has been injured and Wingard isn't likely to go off tap. Will be a nice safe acquisition later in the year perhaps. I'm hoping Menzel can keep it together for long enough to make it to the high 400s and Wells looked really good against the Pies. He talked me into him

So yeah... a fair bit of risk there but hopefully just an even sprinkling. And there's a fair bit of firepower there, hey?

I like most of your team, especially the midfield.

I doubt Menzel is going to be a consistent scorer, I don't think he'll make you enough cash or score well enough to hold on to him.

Expecting Witts to score 90+ as 2nd ruck is also a bit ambitious I'd say. If you downgraded Menzel to a rookie (Petracca, McCarthy?) you'd have enough to get a better ruck. I think Smith is a good pick since he'll be #1 at Geelong.

Thanks Apolis. I've got concerns about McCarthy's JS. You don't think that'll be a problem? He does appear to have al the attributes you need and I'm not too confident trusting Menzel's knees

And yeah you're probably right on Witts. He's been in some pretty good form though. 100+ against the cats and 45 in a half against Goldy, though Goldy had already played an hour in 38 degree heat. I'll see how he goes this weekend anyway but might wind up going with Smith anyway

So I've done some major re-jigging of my team. I'm not settled on this line up but also feel the depth in mids could get me off to a good start. Would like to hear thoughts on the line up. Thank you!

Quick summary. Selwood is cheap and will have a good season. Adams is my breakout mid. No need for Goldy as my two rucks will only be marginally out scored. Lots of FwD line rookies potentially to start, and willing to sacrifice expensive Dusty/Lids/Dahlhaus and sort my fwd line later. Premo Mids subject to injury changes. Rookies subject to final selections.
