Just looking at Aaron Hall's stats, anyone concerned with his NAB TOG of 71%, 77%, and 71% and his DE of 60%, 44%, and 69%.

Can clearly find the ball, but will he be able to pump out the tons we want if his TOG and DE are down???

or alternately...what will happen if his TOG and DE go up! Honestly i really like his game... i nearly traded him in last year when he was hot...big body, fast, kicks goals...he is the SC prototype IMO (maybe not quite as I don't know how he goes with contested marks). He has been in and out of my team but he is the exact sort of player I like to take a punt on

You're mad if you don't.

The Suns midfield is decimated and Ablett is carrying his ankle, make no mistake.

Hall will start the year with significant midfield time and his TOG% will increase ...

Does Hall finish top 6-8 FWDs come the end of the year??
It's all well and good us jumping on him, but will he be in that top bracket that we want from out keepers??

I think it's quite possible that he will be. I would back him to be at least top 10-15, good enough for F6.

Just realised that Jack Steele is actually 306k with Forward elligibility. Worth a consideration?

Wouldn't think so, meaning he is a stepping stone to a keeper and thus an additional trade. He is in that awkward price range too

Yes, he is a risk, but Hall has had some great scores over around 10 games now, with poor tog and de which allows improvement, in a team that has injuries and is a good age. I don't see him as a stepping stone at all, in fact if you are picking him, you need to pick him as a keeper. If he goes 95, he will be a win and I can see that happening for all the reasons mentioned.

Got a source saying there's anything wrong with Ablett's ankle that's not Mark Robinson?
Nup. Just a hunch.

If he could have played in a NAB game, he would have.

I'm certain he ain't right to go, hence why I'm taking Priddis at the same price.

For me it has nothing to do with his Daddy issues.

I'm coming around to the notion that like Shaw, Dusty is priced at his maximum and will be available at some stage at a cheaper price. While he is incredibly consistent as far as end of season averages go, he is inclined to put in a stinker from time to time. Last year he scored a 51, 51, 62 and 68. So the option may be there to jump on after a crappy score and a decent price drop.

I may still end up starting with him but right now I'm preferring a few who are likely to be keepers and are around their cheapest price at round 1.

I've seen a few people clutching at chopsticks...I mean straws, suggesting his preseason indiscretions and the latest incident surrounding his father might affect him.
At the end of the day, barring injury he will play 22 games at 100-105. I think most would be leaving him out as there are other options which represent better value (Hall/S.Gray/Franklin). I don't think his non-selection will necessarily burn you, he'd need to take his game to elite mid scoring status (110+) for that to happen.

He was a must have before the NAB cup but Barlow, Gray, Hall, Wells and Kerridge have all shown themselves to be in roles that make them a lot more attractive at their prices. The fact they have had good scores is a bonus but their time in the middle of the ground is hard to ignore.

Prochard, you keen to share your reasons for not starting Dusty? Or if you have already, can you point me in the direction of your comments? Cheers

I would take anything Robbo says with a grain of salt. Damian Barrett quoted on radio that Gaz has been right to go for a while, but just doesn't want to play any preseason games.

For me Martin upsets the balance of the team from a pricing perspective once paired with Barlow, and I think Barlow offers better value for money. In addition I have a (probably irrational) dislike for the guy based on his character traits, which makes the decision even easier !

There has been abit of talk about Zorko and Robinson due to Beam's indefinite injury. Thought i would have a little look and this is what i came up with.

zork.PNG

above is a snapshot of 2015 for the main Brisbane mids,CP= contested possessions CL = clearances

Both average considerably higher with Beams missing, their contested possessions and clearances increase as well indicating more midfield time potentially?
As we know Brisbane have a very tough early draw, arguably the hardest of any team. This could be Robinson's only downfall averaging significantly lower in losses compared to Zorko.
I have also included losses for 30+ points.
Last point is that do you think it will be worth it taking a Zorko or Robinson for an early average of 110-115 for the first month or two while beams recovers and then take his lower scores once Beams is back?
