With $190k I reckon you could "fix" one of Lonergan, Sheridan or Hall. History says they won't all work out maybe pick your fav two and de-spec your side by one on the other.

Bearing in mind Cripps has some spec-ness about him too. Punts are fine but maybe not 4.

Scary.

I have also gone with 3 expensive rookies vs. Libba + 2 cheap rookies.
I think the better money generation & higher scoring with 3 more assured rookies will outweigh the potential 100 scores which Libba *might* produce.

Thought about upgrading Houli to Shaw?

I'm getting to the point where I feel I'm going to stuff around with my team too much if the season doesn't start soon. Here are two recent versions:

Version 1:
Shaw, Laird, Bartel, Lonergan, Brown, Hartley (Broad, Ruggles)
Fyfe, Danger, Pendles, Rockliff, Wines, Mills, Menadue, Gresham (Hibberd, Payne, Davis)
Goldy, Jacobs (Grimley)
Martin, Barlow, ZMerrett, Wells, BKennedy, Kerridge (Cox, AMT)

Version 2:

Laird, Simpson, Bartel, Lonergan, Brown, Hartley (Broad, Ruggles)
Fyfe, Danger, Pendles, Ablett, Rockliff, Mills, Menadue, Gresham, (Hibberd, Payne, Davis)
Goldy, Gawn (King)
Martin, Barlow, Hall, Wells, BKennedy, Kerridge, (Cox, AMT)

I've bolded the differences between the two.
Obviously ZMerrett could also be Hall in team 1 as Gawn could replace Jacobs in Team 1. Same with Grimley/King as R/F.

So I guess in the end it's Shaw, Wines v Simpson, Ablett.

Love the midfield! Each line with the exception of the backline is unique yet strong. Also like Sam gray in the forward line. Cripps was in my team early- he will be a keeper this year.

Defence needs work- upgrade brown or Hartley to dea. One of lonergan/ Sheridan to Bartel/ Houli type. If u need more cash you could downgrade Oliver in the mids to Gresham that saves u $63k and allows another premium in your defence

Love your team! Great work! With 90k left could you upgrade Simpson who will be in the 90-95 range for a rance/ Boyd or even downgrade Kommer ( won't score much) to a 102k fd and turn Simpson into shaw?

Mid: Danger, GAJ, Priddis, Rocky, Libba, Mills, Menadue, Kerridge (Petracca, Keays, Davis)

Rucks: Goldy, Gawn (Loresch)

Fwd: Lids, Barlow, Hall, Wells, Kennedy, Milera (McCarthy, Tippa)

Biggest worry about my team at the moment i think is having Brodie Smith. I could get Johannisen instead but im not sold on him either. Hall is all a bit of a worry but think hes worth the risk.

I like the strucutre of your team. I am a Gawn and Hall fan, so for me, I would be running with them over Jacobs and Zerrett. Is there a way you can keep Shaw and upgrade Wines with the money you save from 'downgrading' to Hall/Gawn/King? Or do you have your heart set on GAJ?

Structure wise both of these options are fine and personally I prefer the Hall over ZMerrett option. However, my main concern with both options is the number of rookies which appear long odds to, firstly, get picked round 1 and, secondly, have job security. Broad, Ruggles, Hibberd, Payne, Cox, AMT and even Gresham is looking shaky.

Open question to all, not just Zimmer, as I've seen a number of side with these players, is what happens if they don't get picked. What is plan B?

I really like this team and it's very similar to mine. We have 23/30 of our players the same.

I honestly can't point out any weaknesses so now it's simply a matter of hoping that all the rookies you have get named (aside from loopholes) and you don't need to disrupt the rest of your side to fork out cash for Dea, Oliver etc etc.

Would love some feedback on my side!

So undecided on Joel Selwood. Such a steal at that price looking back at his averages over the last 5 years (isn't it amazing what one bad year can do to our memories!) obvious downside is his lack of pre season and that foot injury. I believe he wasnt 100% last year, and this is what the major reason was for his drop in output. Not worried about the addition of Danger though. The man scored well with Bartel Ablett Corey Kelly etc. And I'm sure we are all well aware from this forum of how he did that year he had no preseason (big opening)

At Selwoods price point Sloane is another great option. I looked into his NAB form last year, and it was awfully similar to this year - low output - so his mediocre NAB form shouldn't scare anyone from him, as his opening 3 games last year were all 130+. What worries me is no Danger, emergence of the Crouches, and whether he will cop extra attention. At the same time, the additional responsibility could make him rise to another level. Would love to hear some opinions on this also.

Remaining funds $109k (want to go in with around this amount in the bank - allows for corrections/upgrading injured players etc
