I think this is definitely a key point.
We're never going to end up with the Top 8 midfielders, and we bring some of them in midway through the season anyway. But for argument's sake, looking at 2015's results, we see:
Only 12 MIDs averaged over 107, BUT
Only 6 MIDs scored totals above a 107 average (2,354 = 107 x 22):
- Pendlebury
- Hannebery
- Dangerfield
- Priddis
- JPK
- Mundy
What is says is that, if you think someone's going to average around 105 (ish), then if you think they'll play every game, then don't be too dissuaded.
To put it in context, the 12th highest scoring MID was Andrew Gaff, scoring 2,283, at an average of 104.
