1389/13+c. Got 3 rookies to go. Looks like I'm a bit behind the 8 ball judging by some of these scores.

Tempted to use my 6th trade to go Barlow to Z. Merrett this weekend.

With just 117k in the bank and 5 trades down, should I be taking a conservative approach and going one up one down next week for first upgrade?
I'd hold off BS. Can cause more heartache than joy!

1085/9 deciding whether to keep Goldy's score or roll the dice on Fyfe. Leaning towards locking in 125.
Lock it in! Anything could happen! Too early in the season to be rolling the dice imho! Esp as u have a good score already.

12 / 1265. C played.
Shiel, Kerridge, Barlow, Gawn, Zac Merrett, Dea, Shaw, Weitering, Ben Ken and Tippa to play.

Was such a relief to see Ollie up and about. Also thankful that I didn't have to abuse S Gray anymore. Had the luxury of sitting back and laughing at him.
The downside, Robbie Gray. What went on there ?

Robbie Gray was entrenched as the deepest forward for most of Q3

Kinda strange to see PTA best mid having such long spells in the fwd line.
Mentally RGray lost it as well
Westhoff was the other one, he looked terrible (totally disinterested?) as a fwd, he is so much better as a floating utility.
Disappointing game after such a great first qtr

One decision right this year, kept Papley.
Interesting that close to 20% of Papley owners dropped him. Sydney have an easier run coming up. Will help Hewett who only seems to do well when Sydney are well on top (scored most of his points 2H yesterday).

Happy with new recruit Selwood.
But due to cash restrictions I went Ruggles over DBJ:eek:
Is it too late to grab him next week? He looks a player.

Still a suffering Sam Gray owner. Its clear he need to play centre to get possession to o***et his average disposal levels. Just wonder what is going on at Port, Robbie and Sam both playing forward. Will likely give him the next 3 weeks with Rich, Bris and Carlton coming up to see if the Port system changes and he can score better.

First post diesel. Welcome aboard.
Agree with your summary. Robbie lost the plot. The Hoff had a shocker. Too many passengers.
Some issues over there at Port and I'm not sure if it's a quick fix.

1705/16 Danger C Barlow, Kerridge, BenKen, Pendles, Dea and Tipa to come

Plenty of popular picks in Gawn, Martin, Rance, Fyfe, Shaw, Weitering to come that will influence where I sit in the pack. Robbie Gray my only real disspaointment so far but nice to see Wines finally turn it on. Loopholing in full effect with Mills and DBJ E scores to come onto the field. I have papley E too so need to decide if one of Kerridge, Barlow or Ben Ken should get benched for his 79. Think I'll let it ride and back the on field lads in

I second this.

Went Ruggles over him too due to JS.

1710/17+C (Goldy via the loop)

Fyfe, Kerridge, Pendles, Dusty and either Dea or AMT to come.

Will be taking Goldy's score. Fyfe could go large but not prepared to risk it this early.

Uebergang MVP again - allows me to loop DBJ's score as well as taking the captain spot.

Will decide tomorrow who to start out of Dea and AMT - I think they are both 75-80 prospects, so probably won't matter too much.

Lonergan is gone next week (like a few others have suggested). Awkward price, so will need to go one up one down this week.

Good luck all.

14 for 1243. I will need Captain Fyfe to have a monster to get closer to par. 2 out of 3 PODish premiums in Gray and Jacobs killing me, at least Sloane has lifted last two weeks.

1327/13 C Goldy ... I am slipping and sliding. Might have to reconsider the floating donut approach next year. I get the rookies wrong weekly it seems. hmmm.
I am a recent convert to the floating donut, and I would highly recommend it.

Last year I was reluctant to start one given it took a potentially cash-making rookie out, and left me with less cover early on. I traded in the WC D-M FD option (I can't remember his name) around the byes though. That was a wasted trade because I rarely seemed to have the right number of playing players on either of his lines - ie, I was left with no cover, or had other options I could use as non-floating donuts.

This year has been very different. Uebergang has been extremely useful, particularly because he is paired up with Adams, Brown and Tippa. Adams has been consistently solid but the others have been up and down, so Ueber has worked well to either loop the Ess options, or to switch up and back with Adams to take the better of D7 and F7, sometimes knowing exactly what both of those scores were (no guessing).

Petracca has also been useful as another option, particularly for the C loophole, given sometimes you can't do forward, back and C loopholes with just one agent. He will presumably be generating cash in a month or so, which I will welcome, but I may even consider another FD in his place, especially if the downgrade options get thin.

The other thing that has made it very worthwhile this year is that the top-flight rookies have been excellent, but the last-selected ones have all been pretty underwhelming in my view - so I haven't really foregone much, but I have still had a strong chance at boosting my score every week. It's obviously useful for trades as well.

14/1451 including Danger C. Hopefully will post a solid but not spectacular score. Very happy though as I have used just 3 trades and have rookies who are growing well especially Papley and Hewett with the highest BEs making them easily. Gibson and Stefan Martin coming off injuries so i'm not too alarmed about their scores. Grabbed DBJ this week and have used his score via Uber

I believe it was Corey Adamson.
