McVeigh vs Laird?

My preference was Davis and Tucker to Phillips and Laird because of Adelaide's nice draw but just fell short. McVeigh would give me 19 players this week which is nice insurance for a shocker score or a late out. I could use my 3rd trade to bring in a floating doughnut, which I don't have, because I have 7 forwards this week to raise the cash to get Laird and spare cash for another upgrade next week. My thinking is that the gap between them if any is not worth the extra hassle but would like to get some opinions.

If your plan was to eventually bring in a FD AND you need the extra funds for upgrade the following week, then that 3rd trade could be justify to bring in your preferred option of Laird.

Otherwise, I'd advise to hold off on that trade and just get McVeigh as it's not worth using another trade for Laird like you mentioned. The FD can always be brought in at a latter round, who knows, the SC gods may present you (and me) with a few more 'unexpected' donuts along the way so we may not need a FD at all!

Easily Laird, not convinced in McVeigh. Rather than a FD, do you still have Adams, maybe go early on Brisbane's Hammer D/F, or make a similar call on a DPP that you need that may play. Given Hammer's score, he could easily become a floating donut!

^Laird for me as well. Favourable draw and I still feel unsure about McVeigh. I think he's just as likely to average 80 as he is 100.

My X v y, thoughts? What order would you have them in?
A. Priddis + Simpson
B. Hannebery + Rance
C. Pendles + Yeo
D. Parker + Docherty

I'm running a I'm not willing to eat 2 donuts scenario.

CBAD for me, although I suspect B will be the more popular option. I think Yeo's coming into one of his 100-average stretches that will hopefully last at least the next six weeks. Actually think he can match or even outscore Rance from here, whereas I think Pendles is 5-10 ahead of Hannebery. (I fully realise my Yeo-boosting is the minority opinion)

laird vs rance ?
playing for league only and not fussed about overall if that makes a difference
Laird, more likely to score higher against weaker teams, Adelaide have a good run home incl over finals.

I'm with MMM IDIG, think Hanners is a must have at that price.

I'll be keeping a very close eye on JJ. Potential to be an unbelievable POD
I'm actually considering the same... For me it is trade Rich to Laird this week, or keep the trade and trade in JJ next week. Depends what score he knocks out. Might be the ticket I need back into contention. Thoughts on JJ vs Laird?

I'd be getting laird for the time being especially with rich having his bye this week. Covering his doughnut is more important given your standing. JJ is risky given how severe his injury was, at best id be having him as my loophole player whereas Laird is in my final 6.

Yeo is not a proven premium and is still dubious, so out with C.

Parker is not a proven elite mid, out with D.

A > B by a fine margin, based on the following:

Priddis: 110
Simpson: 100
Hannebery: 115
Rance: 90 (based on track record, I don't see him averaging 100)
