Deledio update for those who are interested (bad news for this week sorry).

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/a...1/news-story/fc92a1a610990dd3938050216cc8e237

RICHMOND vice-captain Brett Deledio is racing the clock to be fit to play against Geelong next week.

Deledio, 29, will run today and again on Saturday in the hope of getting his calf right for the Round 21 clash at the MCG.

The star forward injured his calf muscle against Essendon a fortnight ago after missing the start of the season with a quadriceps strain.

“It’s been the pits,” Deledio said of his repeated injury setbacks.

“I really want to get up for next week ... we haven’t beaten Geelong since my second year at the club so we owe those blokes a couple.

“I’m itching to get back out there and play again against those blokes.”

Deledio was cleared of any serious damage to his calf but Richmond is yet to put a time frame on his return.

“Few little bumps (recovery) not as smoothly as I would like, he told RSN.

“I’d like to think it will heal and progress and I’ll be fine for next week hopefully.

So there's a chance. Best news you could hope for really. Just hope Z Merret doesn't get rested this week

That would be a dream result for me... Sadly, I think it's more likely to be 1st and 2nd year players, top ups etc. I don't think he's at risk so you can rest easy.

Sadly I was a few thousand short and got Montagna instead. The kid's a gun, but for now I really hate him. I also hate Montagna...
I have both, and I agree, Montagna is annoying...
I doubt there are 6 forwards pumping out 100s consistently though.

i think its fantastic news for all lids owners. however the questions you need to ask yourself is
1. can you hold off and play a rookie?
2. how much impact will he have? i would expect him to have very little impact and richmond will not risk him
3. will he play next week?

i think his scoring will be impacted. if you have the trades, he would be a trade out option.

This could be the difference in SuperCoach finals if lids can get back next week as most would have traded him out. Hopefully this comes to fruition!

Keeping him as I have the luxury to be able to - and also down to 1 trade so if he's a chance to return - it's a no brainer for me.

With the new Lids information, who to trade out of Hall vs Lids.
Was going to trade Lids, but thinking Hall is a better trade out now?

I'd still trade Lids first.
I've heard that Lids himself wants to play but Rich don't want him to. Think it's better to just cut your losses.

Hall still a good chance for playing next week against the Dons. It's not like GC can afford to cotton wool him. Hall will be back but can't say for sure the same about Lids.

Gold Coast have nothing to play for though, wouldn't they be best not risking him?

I wouldn't call Hall one of those types of elite players that they'd cotton wool.
GC still have a struggling midfield so he'll be back for sure. They can't keep playing Sexton there.
