I actually think Round 1 had least value in terms of the Floating Donut, as you could adjust your full team depending on the outcome previous games. I'd say more value with Floating Donut down the track.

GC (so Ablett) is the second game this week ... so for the captain loophole we only have Richmond v St.Kilda.

There is the slim possibility that a Cotchin or Deledio could pull a massive score (for those with them) but unlikely ..

Different story however if you don't have Ablett and make Swan captain with Collingwood playing on Sunday .. so plenty of options for VC.

Actually, for the Captain loophole; Ablett (vc) and Swan(c)

Hi

Im wondering if i have the captain loop hole figured out..i have pendels and ablett in my midfield and im considering using pendels as captain, and ablett as vice..on my bench i have rampe (syd) and k mitchell (port). Rampe has been omitted and mitchell is on the extended bench. If ablett scores over 150 then it will be difficult to use the captain loop hole due to gc is playing syd and i cant put rampe in the starting line up and place pendles on the bench with an emergency tag. The only way i can use it if Mitchell is not named in the squad. Is that correct?

Leave Rampe out of equation and obviously K.Mitchell cannot be in captain loophole if not named in final team

Ablett(vc)
Pendles (capt) on field, K.Mitchell on bench

Ablett(vc) scores 50, leave as is and Pendles is your capt

Ablett(vc) scores 150

  • Mitchell is moved onto the field
  • Any player that has not played yet, preferably a rookie is moved to the Bench with an Emergency sign. For example, M.Jones(e), Viney(e), Wines(e)
  • Move the C off Pendles and give it to Mitchell and obviously Mitchell's score does not count.

The problem is I think K.Mitchell will be named as a SUB and you won't be able to use a loophole. Do you have Currie (EDITED: from Rowe as Rowe plays this round)? If so, use Currie for the loophole instead of K.Mitchell.

Sorry if I am not reading this correctly, but isn't Rowe playing for Carlton this week?

Thanks for the pick-up, actually, you are correct.

I was typing so fast, K.Mitchell and Rowe should not be the zero-man as they play this round.

Currie (NTH) is the better quasi-Floating Donut.

Another good week for the floating donut. I had a Cotchin (vc), O'Meara (e) set up so was able to lock in Cotchin's score as skipper, also had a look at O'Meara's score before deciding and was able to put Kommer on the pine.

Only lost some points with Brown 97 as an emg with Heath 80 i think it was on the ground which I could lock in because richo was being used in my mids. Still a very good result though.

How do you lads decide who goes emergency? Is it just whoever is available first in the week.

It seems just a massive lottery!

Hmmm, hard one for the North donut floaters this coming round - playing early Sat. I think my only C loop would be to VC Goddard...well, why not?!

Yes pretty much, earlier game is definitely the preference.

Atkins from Crows is a DPP. And only 109,500, should i use for a Floating Donut?

If I downgrade Watts (fwd) to a FD it will be Atkins or Kerridge.

The Crows have a lot of late games coming up (and a week where they play early then Nth plays late).

Here's hoping for a complete lack of JS this year for Atkins (then a boom 2014).

Any thought for Kerridge? Might play some games later in the season once injuries pop up so might turn into cash later.

Not sure if a 'pure' FD is better value than a hybrid FD/cow. It has worked out with Dwyer.
