Round 1 Winning League

Hi all,

I've just created an account after a long time of lurking. Not sure if people remember/know, but there is a $9000 prize ($500 each) for the top scoring 18-man league in round 1. If people remember back to last year, you are allowed to continue finalizing the league until the end of the round, allowing you to gather the best scores of the round and put them in one league.

Would this be allowed on SCS? Mods obviously delete if not, sorry if people think this is against the nature of the game.

Welcome max, I can't speak for everyone but it definitely wouldn't be something SCS would be apart of it or would be keen to coordinate. Cheers for the suggestion though and best of luck with the big prize.

Haha funny clip.

I'd like to think that we could win the prize without the need to work the system...but considering how it can be manipulated, maybe not lol
It's an absolute joke that they award the prize for round 1, and not for the end of the season.

I know the reasoning for it. But geez I can't help but feel its a bit of a slap in the face to the collective 18 coaches who have great years and finish at the top of the league standings come the end of the year.

I know there's no use crying over spilt milk, but as someone who finished in the top league last year, I can confirm this...

Yep, Been part of the top league overall 3 or 4 times now with SCE, only coin I've taken was some money from Sportsbet Fantasy and a cash league here I think a few years back.

I guess we need to stay on top of this one. For $500 each it's a worthwhile execrcise.
Anyone wanting to be a part of it would need to have a League slot left, obviously!

Gotta love a first post that let's everyone know how crafty you are from the beginning. i am guessing you would be suggesting this with the assumption you would be involved?
You would probably (like other participants) have to show a solid history or top end finishes so each other person could be sure there was no ''dead wood'' in the league (which would quickly exclude me :p).

And I think a donation to SCS as part of the plan.

I wouldn't need to be included. Obviously if i have a good enough score to help the league and/or there isn't anyone else I will join but I'm not expecting to be in it. I was more so suggesting this idea for everyone else to think about.

Actually, if it works the way I believe it does, then your history has nothing to do with it.
It's all about how your score is looking come Sunday afternoon!

Think you just create it prior to the final game when we can see who has scored what e.g 19/2032(c) would def get you in 19/1700(c) will not
That would be a pretty tight call on a Sunday afternoon to organise the best 18. Maybe during the morning.

I'm not the best at maths, but I was wondering if any of the many on this site who were could figure out or estimate how many people are starting both Swallow and JOM?

JOM at 52%
Swallow at 37%

If it's not even possible, nevermind this post!
