Can someone please explain to me how dalhaus got a 53 point quarter in the third when he basicall got zero tackles, one goal and a couple of handballs. His stats are literally at best 80 at that point with 5 clangers 75% and like 4 times more handballs than kicks. And not even a lot of contested possessions. I am at a loss to see how he got 53 in the third. All of 2 clearances only. Just makes no sense. Scoring is stupid.
Thats what im saying - literally more than half his possessions have been uncontested handballs which are not rewarded at all - this is true for his third as well. But somehow he managed to get 53 points in the third without a tackle and only one goal. It simply blows the mind. I watched the game and he wasn't there for more than half the third when north were pumping them. Then did a couple of decent things at the end - a goal and a couple of handballs. Next minute he gets 53 points. Is a joke.
No one can answer me on the dahl 53 point qtr? Maybe because this game makes no sense when you actually break it down. Disgraceful.
This game is rubbish. Literally just random scoring now. There's no way he gets 53 at the third. But I guess people are happy if they have him. Make sure to compare his scores to treloar next time. Makes perfect sense seeing as he kicked it like 2 times and got 5 clangers and went at below 80%. Lets be honest people there is nothing to analyse here - it is just random. 53 for his third. I challenge anyone here to show me how with his 20 uncontested handballs he managed that. 0 goal assists.
Nice reasoning mate. How perceptive of you but that's not the question. He had score involvements that all lead to behinds. Had a goal and was missing halfway through the quarter. Im just using common sense.
I understand SA score irrespective of it being a behind or goal but is there any difference in points cause in DT he received zero goal assists. I am completely comfortable with a 120 score. My question is specifically the third qtr where he scored 53 off a goal and a couple of handballs - no tackles. To say the goal he kicked in the third was absolutely crucial to the outcome of the game and garnered him more points is a bit of a stretch and would show bias in the scoring.
Challenge accepted. I will record the replay, and sometime during this week watch the third quarter and report back on everything he did and an approximate SC score for the quarter.
Now I have a challenge for you. Sometime in your next five posts write a positive post. Offer some advice, a great observation or some words of wisdom and help your fellow posters out. One tends to enjoy their time on SCS and playing SC more when one contributes from time to time as opposed to complaining all the time. It helps builds relationships, and when the bad times come, which they always do, it's easier to commiserate and ***** and moan with your fellow SCS community and friends.
You got yourself a deal mate ha ha. The only reason i was following it so closely was because of a dispute with someone. I was pretty well shocked. But stand to be corrected. Thanks mate!
OK I have just gone through the tape, pausing, rewinding etc to make sure I got everything. Here are all of the pieces of play in the third quarter that Luke Dahlhaus was involved in that could be picked up on TV. I have placed a line gab between each separate piece of play:
Defensive pressure act.
Uncontested possession
Effective handball
Score assist
Handball receive
Effective handball
Handball receive
Immediately tackled, free paid against for holding the ball
Tap received from ruckman at centre bounce
Kick to a contest.
(Maybe scoring chain bonus? Not sure if would be considered part of a scoring chain as North player touched it before Doggies got a goal from forward movement).
Had hand on North player as he received ball, not sure if it would count as a defensive pressure act, personally I'd say no.
Again, sad hand on North player as he received ball, not sure if it would count as a defensive pressure act, personally I'd say no.
Contested possession
Effective Handball
Contested possession of ball, immediately tackled as grabbing ball, ball up.
Again, contested possession of ball, immediately tackled as grabbing ball, ball up.
Handball receive
Effective long distance (40m+) kick.
Defensive pressure act
Handball receive
Kick to a contest
Contested ball possession
Effective handball
Score assist.
Ball received from punch, possession
Effective handball
Part of a scoring chain
Contested possession
Effective handball
Score assist.
Contested possession
Effective kick
Goal
Scaling for putting the Dogs into the lead.
Touch of ball as it ran out of bounds
So in
summary Dahlhaus was involved in the play 18 times during the third quarter, including:
1 Goal (Which gave them the lead)
3 Score assists, plus another piece of play which was part of a scoring chain (and a maybe on a second scoring chain)
6 Contested possessions of the ball
7 Uncontested possession of ball
4 Effective kicks
6 Effective handballs.
1 free against
2 defensive pressure acts, 2 more acts unlikely but may be considered defensive pressure acts.
Another touch of the ball.
Watching the replay specifically looking out for him made me appreciate what a brilliant quarter he had. He was constantly involved in the play, only the five odd minutes he was on the bench in the middle of the quarter was he not involved. Now we can't exactly say what each individual piece of play was worth in terms of SC points, but was the quarter worth 53 points overall? Absolutely IMO.
