A good discussion above on D Swallow, with my view oscillating as I read through it.

The thing I'm struggling with is that his BE is 94, with two scores of c. 50 still cycling though. So unless he plays an absolute blinder next week, he won't make any cash in round 6, 7 or 9.

According to Tooserious, if he goes 100, 100, 100 (which currently looks quite unlikely to me, unless the rest sorts him out), he'll make $50k over his next three games. Those games will be spread over five rounds, and $50k over five rounds seems pretty underwhelming - any decent rookie on the bubble makes that in one round.

I reckon he's gone for me.

I was thinking the same way, but hadn't crunched the numbers. If he hadn't been dropped, I probably would have been happy to hold, but now I'll probably trade to Balic in order to accelerate cash generation.

How is Swallow rested good? I traded O'Meara to him and he has been nothing but a disaster. Spends so much time on the bench and the fact that he now needs a rest? Really!!!
This clearly tells me has a niggle/injury and I cannot see him getting back to a 90+ average anytime soon.
It's good, because he was already obviously injured, so now he's got much more chance of actually getting back to a 90+ average.

Think if you hold him now it's with the intention of sticking with him through the byes. Maybe for the last mid upgrade to a RD11/12 player before RD13. His low scores will be out of his system by then and he hopefully will have helped in the RD11 crush, which at the moment looks like the only scary bye week. Of course for that to be viable you have to think he can get back to 90+ scoring. I'm working on the assumption he was still injured last week and is still a 90+ player, so I think I'm leaning towards holding.

Goldy couldn't even walk during the week so a late change for preuss is highly likely
I guess will see at 6pm Saturday night, hopefully I won't be relying on Preuss as a VC loophole as I really want him to come in to make $$$ before the byes.

It gets worse for Swallow owners-

Suns football manager Marcus Ashcroft confirmed Swallow would be periodically rested throughout the season after playing just a handful of games in the past two years due to a knee injury.

“We’ve mapped out a year plan for David, obviously he’s missed a lot of footy over the last year or so with a significant injury so we want to make sure we can get him through the whole year,” he said.

“As part of that plan he won’t play footy at all this weekend, with the view to being able to play next weekend against Geelong.”
Most would be planning on trading him out Round 9, during the byes or Round 14 as a latish upgrade. The major issue is that he now needs to fire Rounds 7 and 8 for those wanting to trade him Round 9.

I see the risk of a Round 13/14 "rest" as fairly high but would have been expecting that even if he hadn't been rested this week.

Miller to Balic and Swallow to Any Mid. Which Mid would you take? I have gone Sloane at the moment.

Already have Danger, Titch, Fyfe, Duncan, Pendlebury and Beams

Thanks

I'd say Selwood, but I guess with Danger and Duncan you probably need to consider the R9 bye. I really want Sloane, but I think he's at around his max price at the moment. Perhaps you wait on him? Rocky, Bont?

Also, who will be at M8? Are there other lines you could look at upgrading instead? Sorry for adding more questions.

I have floating donut with Hibberd loopholing SPP at M8 or Hampton at D6 with Adams Dual position. I have 3 premium defenders and 2 forward but at the moment other than Dahl and Macrae, is their any other forwards that you can trust. Thinking of Nank (my biggest miss of the season) but the look of a Sloane or Selwood in my team looks a whole lot better.

TBC sounds like throwing good money after bad there ORF.
Could be mate but the alternative around trading Spencer to a playing ruck that within that range is Vardy, Giles, Boyd and Bellchambers. There is no good about this situation.
Having said that, my preference is Preuss play so not forced to find a ruck this very week with such limited funds. If Preuss not playing I got no second scoring ruck or Bellchambers or have to use two trades to fund better ruck than Bellman which either involves sideways trades which not after or trading Turner before Pickett or Hanna simply because he has more cash in him and can get me Kruezer at least. He will have to be Plan B if Preuss does not play. Bellchambers is plan C. Plan D is delete account which is more trouble than it worth to go through Herald-Sun and Virtual Sport hurdles.

The good money went on Gawn that started this ruck cascade. I used his funds to get me Nick Roo as believe it or not my forwards situation going even worse than ruck division of Sandi and Gawn.
