Sorry for the slight delay guys. Didn't know that the Sydney and St Kilda Teams were released this evening.

You just need to add C. Bird to the 'Ins' for Sydney (HeraldSun site chopped his name out for some reason).

Is it just me, or does anyone else not like the two games on Anzac day. Maybe its just because I'm a dons fan and want all the attention on our game, but I just feel like it doesn't feel natural having the two games on that same day.

I don't see it as a big problem at all. It's good to see games being international, especially on ANZAC Day in New Zealand.

It's gonna take time to get used to it, because its never happened, but I think it's good in the long run.

MCG. Dons v Pies. 100,000 crowd. The last post sending shivers down the spine.

You could have all 8 other matches played at the same time and it still wouldn't lessen the occasion for me.

ANZAC Day at the 'G - still magic.

Lest we forget.

I reckon they could have 3 games on the day/night

Ess V Coll at the G at 2:40
Stk v anyone one in NZ at 5:40
Anyone v anyone in Perth or Adelaide at 8:40

Of course it stu*** the fixture around if it is mid week but who cares...

I think it's a good touch. ANZAC day is supposed to commemorate the commitment between Australia and New Zealand so short of a AUS vs NZ match I think this is the best solution. As a bombers fan I love the ANZAC day match, it's the best game of the year no matter the result, but who are we to deprive others of the same experience?

Lets be honest guys, the 'tradition' of Bombers v Pies isn't exactly that old - first time was 1995, like yesterday for me!

It's a very good point, Peptide. I've got socks older than some of these "traditions"! :)

Way back when, i would've agreed with Hirdofme as having another game felt like it took away from the main game. Now, it's occurred to me that I still look forward to the Essendon v Collingwood game but have another game to look forward to that same night so it's a win win.

Have checked the weather for the game in Wellington. Should be about 16-18 degrees, 10% chance of rain, 70% humidity and 30+km north wind. Should be interesting conditions for the big boys?

Yeah I've only been there once and from memory it was windy but apart from that it wasn't too bad.

I 'll be interested to see what type of crowd they get there. Could be very vfl like.

I think I've seen about 2 or 3 Ess v Coll games on tv that has been regularly played since 1995 so the game in itself has meant no more to me thn any other. It is not much of a tradition for me and as others have said only feels like yesterday that other games got played on Anzac holiday too. For me personally it has lost something because it has been the same teams for 18 years. If I had a different match up that interested me it would make the footy on the day more to me but since it has become that same teams for over a decade, just mundane.

If it is a tradition for you that is great but not everyone thinks or feels that way when there are now 18 different supporters groups in the AFL.
