Tough decisions this week was going to do a double downgrade this week but now with Nank out thinking it's a choice of playing Balic for Nank or upgrading Marchbank to Yeo pretty much finish my forward line. It then enables me to loop Balic in for Powell-pepper if he drops back to useless?
Or just play Balic and upgrade Marchbank to a Shaw/Williams/Hibberd type and not use any loop this week? Ranked 323rd without Danger so was hoping to have cash to bring him in next couple of weeks?
To me both options seem good. I guess it depends on whether you see Yeo up forward as a must have relative to Shaw/Williams/Hibberd down back, if so the loophole this week is a handy bonus if you go that way.

Now that all players have accepted the MRP sanctions, I need to alter my trades to avoid a donut in the Rucks.

1. Trade Spencer to a Premium Ruck: can afford anyone, but also conscious of not releasing all my bank on the trade. Shifting through a few options, but really there's only 1 which suits my bye planning, here's hoping for a 'better' second coming.

2. Pending team selections, I'll be looking to add a 'fitt-sons' (see what I did there: Parfitt to Parsons) to my rookies list.

Fellas, I reckon I'm in a bit of a pickle. 28k in the bank.

Doch, Adams, Laird, Otten, MB, Newman (Hampton, Stewart)
Danger, JPK, Selwood, Pendles, Fyfe, Bont, Beams, SPP (Florent, Barrett, Deluca)
Nank, Sandi (Strn)
Dahl, Macrae, Higgins, Butler, Balic, Parfitt (Pickett, Eddy)

Think I have to bring in a premium ruck this week in order to cover Nank (and just in general beef my team up. However, I have 2 issues. A) I need one of Florent, Eddy or Pickett to play to cover him. B) who do I bring in? I'm basically stuffed I reckon, unless I think of something nifty. I think Cox gets dropped this week, so Grundy comes in, but it's kinda pointless if Florent/Eddy/Pickett doesn't get named. I do have to trade in a premium ruck to cover nank this week which sucks.

Parfitt and Otten to EVW and Grundy leaves me with about 3k left, but in a good position overall. Thoughts? Will leave me with 20 trades and 6 rookies on field.
You could look at Ryder up forward

Seems to be slowly building his scores

You are strapped for cover ongoing with that bench though I'd almost consider copping the donut and sorting out two of your non playing bench. You could face ongoing trouble otherwise

8 trades used and 5 non playing rookies not generating cash could send you into the point of no return

$313k in the bank.
6 trades down.

Laird, Adams, H Shaw, Otten, Marchbank, Newman (Hampton, Stewart)
Danger, TMitch, Wines, Fyfe, Treloar, Beams, SPP, O'Meara (Parfitt, Balic, Fisher)
Nank, Sandi (Strn)
Dahl, Greene, Steele, Buddy, Butler, Taranto (Hayward, Eddy)

In lots of trouble. No ruck cover.
I won't rant that Nank didn't deserve a week - but I now have both Greene and Nank to deal with.

I think that I need to upgrade one player - but then there are a few excellent downgrade options in both the backline and forwards.
A few mids & rucks still need a week to bottom out, but the backline players are ripe for picking.

Option 1 - UP & DOWN
O'Meara --> PREMIUM RUCK (Stefan Martin - via DPP)
Marchbank --> Vickers-Willis
$280k left
I pull the trigger on my next premium ruck (Stef Martin), although he probably has another $15k to go down.
I eat a donut in my forward line, unless B Eddy is named. :(

Option 2 - UP & SWAP
O'Meara --> Pendles (can't pass his price up)
Greene --> Martin
$2k left.
Also get my premium ruck, but avoid the donut.
Get Pendles while he's cheap.
No downgrading.

Option 3 - DOWN & DOWN
O'Meara --> Martin (via DPP)
Eddy --> Parsons
$99k left
Avoid a donut, and get my ruck upgrade.
Cannabalise my non-playing forward to get a downgrade.

Please help. I don't want a donut, but I don't want to be damaging the structure of my team to avoid it.

Thoughts on Ben McEvoy?

Nicely priced for his average of 97. He only scored 100+ once last year, has already scored 100+ 4 times.

Seems to be one of the few Hawks who is giving a big effort each week. He's also only 27 so should be in his prime. He seems a risky pick, but given the uncertainty with the rucks this year is he worth a punt?

EDIT: No Ceglar seems to be helping his scoring this year. In saying that, Injury update lists Ceglar as returning in 8 weeks.

Cheers

I think if Eddy isn't named, Option 3 probably works out the best.

Also for Option 1, I'd prefer to keep MB and trade Parfitt to Parsons via Dahl DPP if you could.

I have had glandular fever and experienced it after effects, I won't be trading in Heeney...
Yeah I'm with you on that one mate, much like Chronic fatigue and Ross River virus, glandular fever can knock you around for months, even years in some cases. He'd need to show some outrageous form for me to even consider him.

For what it's worth, I had Glandular Fever and didn't even know I had it. I was able to play sport at 100%. Everyone is different.

So not keen on trading out WHE to cover the ruck but just had a brain wave.

Marchbank to EVW will leave me 678k if I then trade butler. I was supposed to use cash on any position bar ruck plus this week was supposed to be double downgrade but not covering this week goes against the whole reason I took nank originally plus a R/f donut over preuss.

So 678k means I can get any ruck.

Tempted by Mumford. A few weeks ago it was Grundy vs Martin but both had quiet weeks. But 678k is pretty expensive when cash is hard to come by.

People who can afford any ruck who are you getting?

Are the bubble boys a must this week?

Was thinking of going march to Hibberd and omeara to pendles... With 222k left.

Or could go march to Hibberd and omeara to parson... Which would give me 678k left for upgrades later... I mean pendles be is still 123k. What do you guys think?

Or could double down and have 900k+ for upgrades...

What do you guys think?

I'd wait for gawn... Or go Martin. Mumford is too injury prone.. But Martin will be cheaper in next few weeks

I still like Grundy even though Cox seems to have had an effect on him. Mummy and Martin I feel have risks attached to them too which might end up being bigger than the Cox issue for Grundy. The money saved is also useful for upgrades later on. Cox might get dropped soon too.

Just noticed that T.Boyd is at an interesting price after having an injury affected score of 3 a few rounds back. He's fallen down to 246k with a BE of 27. He has a Nankless richmond this week followed by WCE the week after. Campbell is unlikely for this week too according to the injury list. Not sure about the week after.

Could be a last resort option to cover a donut and perhaps make a bit of cash if he can push out some better scores in the next two weeks as the No.1 ruck against weak ruck opposition.

Just food for thought.

I'd probably look for some better food to eat while thinking ;) :p

39, 75, 61, 3, 60 and 58 thus far this season; the 58 while being the main ruckman.

Haha. Not great is it, 39 against Grundy and 58 against Mummy.

If there was ever a time though for an inflated score, it'd probably be against the Tigers and WCE.

Hey guys I know this is off topic but with the byes that are coming up is it best 18 for the whole 4 weeks and 3 trades per round have been unable to locate this info ... now onto trades who do we think will be top 6 defenders and forwards . I have dock laird and Adams as my premo backs and Greene Dal and McRae in forwards. Can the like of Heeney and hibberd be top 6 forwards or defenders for the rest of the year or do I stick to one up one down . I can afford both this week cheers

Best 18 is only for the RD11-13 bye rounds. Best 22 for the round 9 Port/GC bye round.

I also think he is a good ruck option. The reasons are explained here.
