Whom was on Ballantyne at last ball up in Freo forward line ?

I suspect Houli..... minus 20 points for letting his direct opponent crumb through to get decisive goal for match... I wonder....
This this this. Not only on Houli there but that area should've been protected a lot better than that I would've thought.

It is almost as if they gave him White's goal ... Good match though, kind of glad to see the Dockers not capitulate twice in a row.

Cotchin owner that really questions the scoring system. Really happy with the 144 (my god up scaled) but can someone please explain this?

Ablett's last quarter was one of the first things that came to my mind as well. Comparing the two, I thought Ablett was underscored and Cotchin over scored (noting I don't have Gaz but do have Cotchin).

The end result for me is the obvious factor but the goals Gaz kicked which are clear, can't-be-misinterpreted points whereas Cotchin's scoring stats were less obvious. Had the tiges won, everyone would definitely be a little more accepting of the 80 I'm sure.

The unforgotten in all of this is Ballantyne in my opinion. As jordy said, deserved a lot more.

Anyway thanks to a couple good performance from the lads, I've managed to get my score back on track after macaffer and Dwyer.

1020/10 (9+C)
Cotchin 144
Martin 115
Fyfe 93

I'm actually a little disappointed with fyfe's final score after his good start. Especially seeing Freo won nd all the points being thrown around in the last.

Clearly it's not, as many places post scores quarter by quarter and i have an APP that shows the scores almost live...
You are missing the point.

Those live scores are an indication of the scores of that quarter... assuming every quarter is weighted exactly the same which is rarely the case. The MATCH scoring involves weighting most important parts of game being worth more points... hence post match scaling is the real scoring

Yeah Cotchin 143... how??
Rowsus' suspicion of human biased being a factor.... Think it's true.
We know it's true because its humans recording the stats in the first place.

That said it's been clearly played around with if that can be an 80point quarter and 'BOG'

Can anyone tell me Juddy score from a wet game v Sydney at SCG about 2 years ago ? 2nd half score must have been amazing.. he was a freak in that match but I did not follow SC scores back then but it has me curious now... it was like Ablett's effort v St.Kilda a few weeks back

Check out FanFooty's quarter by quarter stats.

You'll find that some players (ie: Knights, Walters) scored minus points in the final qtr. It highlights how SC is calculated at the end of the game.

Great Discussions everyone (Cotchin owners and non-Cotchin owners).
I think that's what most arguments boil down to but in all honesty if I was a Cotchin owner I'd be thrilled too...but feel like you've gotten away with robbery...and it's only the one-eyed that cant see it was crazy.

As others have said, there's no way that quarter was on par with Ablett's, where he single-handedly WON the game.

You don't often see 60 points separating a players DT points and their SC points... He deserved to be scaled up but 144 is ridiculous, no way did he play an 18 point better game then my boy JOBE!! haha

On a side note... How many points you reckon the goal umpy got for that game changing smother??

Yep the scaling and heavily weighted stats make the early points scored almost redundant in close games.

Obviously we'll never truly know how Cotchin was scored but I was watching his points in the last and it must've jumped something like 50 pts in the space of a few minutes with a handful of touches (albeit important ones) so there will be a few question marks.
