dal played on the half back in the intra match and looks in ripping condition. he is still the best playmaker in the team..very tempting. he's in a the moment! the only minus is he's not in my calculations as a top 15 midfielder for this yr.
Would seem to be a pretty decent minus! :p

Let's just say Dal Santo is now my fourth midfielder after Ablett, Swan, Pendles and just pips out Murphy.

When I say 4th, I dont necessarily mean fourth highest average, just in terms of my midfield position in my initial team.

Like I said it's simply just my gut feeling, but I don't think Watters will let Dal Santo be fed to the wolves. However, I could be overthinking things and could be completely wrong.

think i might reassess my top 15. if its good enough for jay its good enough for me! plus you couldnt get murphy as youd be top heavy in the mids for the rd 13 bye.

Great player on the decline got him into my side last year mid season but he never really delivered except for a 150 against GWS so could be a good pinch hitter in first 3 rounds but no from me.

I voted likely as he is in my placeholder team atm, and well as a SC player since day dot I just love the bloke :)

Of course I am worried that I am letting past heroics cloud my judgement.

The real test will be on how I decide to go on midfield structure. If I go just pure Guns and Rookies then he is a no, but if I allow myself one or two discounted premiums or value picks he is in my leading pack of candidates at the moment.

NDS is hard to ignore at his price. the saints draw is too tempting; if u pick guys like fyfe, NDS, a.swallow - you free up so much cash compared to the top 5. kind of hope he goes quiet in the NAB. his durability is the one part I cant keep my eyes off

Does NDS's price now after 5 rounds interest anyone? Can he turn his form around as he has always been a bit up and down? $477k is hard to pass up but with only a couple of 90's in the first 5, including GWS and GC I am wondering will be be 'back'?

I've been thinking about this all day and while tempting I'm not sure he will be back to his best. Strangely enough Nick Riewoldt has been doing really well and is actually doing better than Buddy Franklin.

Wait til Priddis falls down to even cheaper than NDS in a few weeks time.

Did that last year. Terrible decision. Sucked week in, week out from there.

I know you both are right, however.........

I was going to trade in Luke Hodge 2 weeks ago, but decided not to. Hodge has scored 68 and 80 while Dal Santo 70 78, so they both as bad as each other. Hodge is probably not fully fit.

I know I know I'm probably looking for excuses for Dal Santo but -

R1 - GCS(84) - had a little niggle
R2 - RIC(96) - not great, but okay
R3 - GWS(95) - not great, but okay
R4 - ESS(70) - Hooker Tag
R5 - SYD(78) - Bird Hard Tag

Yes, NDS is going pretty bad, but hey I've got Dangerfield too LOL. Probably just get Robbo (FWD) instead, but boy NDS price is so juicy.

BTW - I'm obviously not recommending NDS, but just thinking out loud.

Watters has said NDS's spot in the team is under pressure
He wants to play younger players and develop their list.
Potentially he might get dropped ?

Having said that, it could make him work harder to keep his spot in the side.

On tonight's evidence I would say not. Will lock him in next year if he is traded though.

Very glad I didn't get on either as he followed up in Rd 6 with 39 against Coll. However now at $408k and looking to drop another $20k with BE 121 when, if at all, does he become worth the risk? Maybe through the byes as a straight swap for Jaeger (GC)? Why is he performing so badly for so long this season?

A very reasonable comment Brad but most will still stay away from him, myself included. Risk-reward, as you say.

Under 400k now at 398.5k. If he dropped that low in years past I would have been doing backflips down Bourke St at the prospect of getting him so cheap!

Of course yet to hit triple figures in any game this year. Still I must admit I have spent about 10 seconds pondering trading him in this week but alsa I won't.

He was in out at the start of the year, I was very keen on him, fortunately didn't go with him. No idea what has happened to him. Carrying an injury maybe. Might turn to be this years Sylvia if he hits form later in the year.

His lack of DPP status makes him half as useful as Sylvia was last year, but Boy! he is looking cheap! :)
