We're rich on rookies! Reckon most of us would have about 12-14 guys with significant negative BEs and reasonable JS. As well as that, the obvious value premos like Coniglio and D.Smith seem to be working out so a lot probably managed to squeeze 15 premos onto the field. (Touch wood) that means finishing teams without too much compromise should be done pretty comfortably and with relatively few trades (compared to if we had to screw every last $50k out of every last dud rookie). Also means teams pretty similar in the top ~20,000 (maybe that's always the case) and not much separating them yet.

Interested in the strategy implications of all that. First thought is it means we should compromise less on settling for fringe D6/M8/F6 types and also that very aggressive trading that is happy to jump before cash cows max out will be rewarded.

Interested in how people see it playing out and the strategies that might flow from that. Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions too early and counting my cows before they moo.
Smart trading will be very important this year. You've done well to start a guy like Lynch in a year like this!

Did some VC/C and E changes via the app on my phone, then logged into SC on my laptop and noticed that I'm not seeing the changes I made via the app?

Accessed my team via the app and it has the 'correct' changes.

Has anyone noticed this or can someone who have access to both confirm this for me?

Note - I've log out and back in several times to check this.

Worked for me. Just swapped a few E's around on the phone and then refreshed tab on comp and it was all changed.

This happened to me round 1. On the app I switched Finlayson on the ground and Kelly off and was actually cursing during the Cats game when Kelly was on fire.

Went back into the 'gameday' part after the game to find that Kelly actually remained on the ground so was an accidental win there!

I'm double checking each time I do things now by completely exiting the app and then checking both my team and the 'gameday' part.

Tried it now and it worked fine making changes on both the app and computer.

Thanks for checking so promptly guys...

That doesn't instil me with much confidence that the 2 platforms are sync as they should be. I've just tried to make the changes on the computer and checked on the app and the changes was showing on the app. Made the changes on the app and check on the computer and it's not...

So is it safe to assume that the only way to 'guarantee' any changes is to do them via a computer?

This will decide whether I need to take my laptop with me for my trip away with the family this weekend.

Yeah not good at all.

My advice is to pack that laptop!

Have you tried un-installing the app and re-installing it again?

I like how this year on the Game Day page when your emergency score has counted it switches to on field with the purple shade across the name and the E on his name.

I saw this last week. It freaked me out because I thought I had stuffed up a loophole.
I also think this is related to the “bench glitch” issue which is being discussed in the game day thread.

Not exactly SuperCoach related, I just want to get it off my chest.

RE: ......A BOTCHED score review in Sunday’s AFL blockbuster between Richmond and Hawthorn and another error in Perth have attracted plenty of heat,.....

Make the rule simpler.
If a KICKED ball goes between the 2 goal sticks, it's a goal, REGARDLESS if it was touched or it touched a goal post.
What's the problem with this simple rule?

The simpler the AFL makes the rules, the better chance the AFL game will be understood and accepted overseas.

this has been bandied about before mate, but there's a big problem with it- that is the kick to the square that comes off hands in a marking contest.
it would destroy the game if these sorts of behinds became goals.
i like it the way it is, just reckon the score review itself is a disaster.
maybe a better [but it won't happen] idea would be abolish the score review AND the tv and scoreboard replay of close calls, and just go with the umpire's call. like the old days :p

I think we should just let the blokes (and women) who are paid the big bucks and are in the best position to make the call to do it. I think this score review is only the start. What if the field umpire makes a howler of a decision in front of goal and it costs a team a game. I dont see how that is different to a Goal or Boundary umpire making a blue that costs a team the win. Where does the line get drawn?

Thanks for the reply psykro.

That's a goal. It's just a ricochet of a player/s.

Forgive my ignorance, I'm really not seeing something, you may have to explain more, as I don't understand how it would destroy the game?

That's what I am confused about, what are their reasoning for not simplifying how a goal is scored.
Take soccer for instance, it doesn't matter if the ball hits the woodwork or comes off a player, if the ball is in the net, it's a goal. Simple, no wrong decisions from the referee, no need for a time wasting score review.

Teams would just bomb it into the forward line and the forward's job would be to tap or punch it over the line and no one would need to take a mark.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, just really I'm not convinced.
Okay, some more goals may be scored, but isn't that good, more exciting?
What about the Defenders, they will try and tap/punch the ball away from goal, so I see that as a 50/50 scenario, no advantage to the Forward player trying to punch/tap the ball.
Ideally, the goal kicker would try and clear the pack to make sure it's a goal, and not have a Defender deflecting the ball.
