My inside mail this week is that Howe has a very bad corkey. No indication if it stops him playing, but add that to concussion it's not looking great.

Given he was all but knocked out by that knee to the forehead, you'd reckon J Howe would miss this week anyway.

Unfortunately Howe confirmed out this week.

Shane Savage has been ruled out of Saturday night’s clash with the Western Bulldogs.

The running defender left the training track during Thursday’s main session with a hamstring injury.

While scans are yet to reveal the extent of the injury, he wasn’t considered for selection this weekend.

The 27-year-old has been one of the Saints’ most consistent performers in 2018, playing every game of the season to date.

Savage was hurt about halfway through St Kilda's main session on Thursday.

"He won't play again this year, so it was a reasonable tear," Richardson said.

"He's been a positive for us this year so he's disappointed to miss (against the Western Bulldogs on Saturday night and) he's disappointed to miss the rest of the year."

It’s probably been mentioned but one of Brayshaw’s brothers is Gaff’s teammate at WC and if he ends up at Melbourne next year, he’ll be playing alongside another one.

Poor bloody bugger. Eating out of a straw and no solids for 4 weeks!

The interesting thing about this all is that Gaff wasn't really being hard tagged yesterday so you gotta wonder what was going through his head (obviously not much) when he whacked him.

It's a shame this happened really. One of the greatest rounds of footy i can remember, tarnished by this incident.
