No. And Hall's hit n Staker was worse than this. But when you do the wrong thing then you must pay the price. Eight no surprise for me.
Not really what I was asking for, was thinking now he feels like he owes the club for costing final chances, so more likely he stays at WCE rather than moving?

Yeah I was combining a reply to you and another comment to a previous post so not the clearest of answers. I don't think he owes West Coast. He may well feel inclined to get away from the scene of the crime and have the support of his family. An Melb club would be a fresh start.

Oh LITS your bias is insane.

Brayshaw lowered his body... The AFL... the umpires... the Victorian media...

Anyone else you think should share the responsibility for a west coast player punching someone in the face? Perhaps he had a bad night's sleep which made him cranky so the manufacturer of his bed should also put their hand up too?

Hes a grown man who elected to throw a punch. Brayshaw is eating through a straw for the next month. Take your west coast hat off for 2 seconds and get some perspective.
No LITS bias is not insane, he is just passionate.

When you are in staunch defense of your club no matter what the scenario it is called bias. The blame being thrown into everyone else is ridiculous.

Anyway - that's my 2c not gonna get into an argument.

Point taken.
But I was referring to LITS 'bias' as not being 'insane' but as being just 'passionate'.
I'm meaning, insanity is referring to one's mind, while passion is referring to one's emotion.
Moments like this Gaff scenario is very emotional.

Don't really agree with the whole "chest punch gone wrong" line of thinking. Once you intend to make a punch, you take on the risk that you miss, your opponent trips over, moves, flinches, etc. Have far less sympathy when it comes to punches like this as opposed to bumps, spoils and tackles where a player is trying to win the ball. 8 weeks is on the harsher side but when the injury is also on the more severe side (ie: far worse than Mills, Staker) it's understandable why the Tribunal came to that decision when Gaff took on the risk of causing such an injury.

Firstly I want to be clear I am not condoning or making excuses for Gaff... Breaking a guys jaw is not good and he deserves to be punished.

Not normally in the habit of replying to posts like this, but in this case I'll make an exception.

First of all, The very first comment I made on this incident was making it clear I didn't condone or make excuses for Gaff's strike. And said he deserved a harsh punishment (8 weeks considering all the factors seemed a touch harsh for me, But we are all entitled to our own opinion).

In that same post I provided screenshots taken milliseconds apart showing the 184cm Brayshaw lowering his height considerably. Gaff is 182cm. This is not an excuse or blaming Brayshaw... It is an observation of a contributing factor to the reason Brayshaw was collected in the head and not the chest.

Gaff himself has said he did not intend to strike Brayshaw in the head, and Andrew's own father Mark Brayshaw has also stated he believes Gaff
intended to strike Brayshaw in the chest not the head.

Secondly, I made a post regarding the illegal holding and scragging behind play that goes on in the AFL particularly towards star players. Holding off the ball is illegal according to AFL rules and as such should be paid as a free kick, When holding is not payed, not only are the Umpires not doing their job correctly, but it leads to players taking things into their own hands to try and stop the illegal holding and allow them to make a fair play at the ball. Once again this is not an excuse or blaming Brayshaw... It is an observation of a contributing factor as Gaff just like many other star player around the league get continually held off the ball without getting the free kicks that should be paid.

And lastly, I pointed out the Hysteria and poor journalism by the media and in particular the Victorian media that was off the charts and way off base over the last few days. I also once again stated that Gaff deserved a harsh penalty, I did not once blame the Victorian media for Gaff's poorly judged action.

When I judge an incident, I like to take into account ALL relevant factors.

You clearly have some eye issues as you have seen things in my posts that are simply not there, so maybe an eye test for some glasses is on the cards, I have heard good things from friends about OPSM (I hear they bulk bill as well) so maybe you should book an appointment for an eye test . If there are no locations close to you I also hear Specsavers provide a good service (Though reportedly not quite as good as OPSM).

Incidents like these are terrible but as with most things in life, things aren't just black & white, their are usually other factors that do need to be considered.

This is not the first time you have tried this rubbish, How about actually contributing something meaningful to this great site instead of all your negativity.

By the way, Everyone has a natural bias towards the team they support... Nothing wrong with that at all.

On the other hand, good chance I mess up a mid premo next year and will need to side-swap. Gaff could be good option around round 4-5

To be honest I'm just a little bit worried about Gaff and whether or not he even returns to football and if so how he'll be.
And yes, I'm also genuinely concerned for Brayshaw and wish him a speedy and successful recovery.

Disagree!

I’ve heard better things about Specsavers.

This weeks mail for anyone thinking of C / VC on Gawn... I believe he's carrying a bad corkey. His record vs Syd isn't great anyway but I'll be looking elsewhere.
Gee that's concerning. I thought he'd be a great choice as Syd/sinclair give up big ruck scores (as we saw with Grundy last week!)
