Who would most likely be the number 1 ruck at Saints this season? You'd think it would have to be Billy Longer. At $260k surely he generates cash and scores decently for an upgrade mid year.
Too many variables with Gawn for R2, you'd want to have a look first at how he goes with Preuss. They have drafted Preuss so they get longevity out of Gawn so he is there for the next 5 years. I would assume that Preuss will cut into a fair chunk of Gawn's ruck time if they're out there together.
My smokey for R2 is Hickey, with the change of scenery and the class around him, I can see his averaging spiking from 89 to close to 100. If Gawn is a must have by mid year, you could always sideways trade Hickey and bit of change to him. Nic Nat is meant to be coming back Rnd 12, so would be ideal you would have thought. Only player to challenge him is Vardy and he's a bit of a slouch.

I'm getting Grundy in on the back of this.
Not sure if you're having a lend of me or not .... probably going to be my first selected player aside from Paddy this year regardless of the draw.

No mate, absolutely not.

I haven't really looked at the draw & was planning on going vanilla with my rucks (Goldy & Hoff) to have a look at the best before I commit, but over the last few days I've started to change my mind & this tips me over the edge. Grundy made a massive jump in scoring this year obviously and I'm not sure he can sustain it or get anywhere close but if he does you have to have him as he seems to have the perfect VC loop draw.

Cheers

No worries there and logical response. Probably paying overs for Grundy but not having him destroyed me last year ..

Cheers mate. So Dogs have 10 sunday games? Sweet will make a good loophole as ruck. I'm leaning towards Xerri as r3, makes sense if I pick Goldy. If Goldy is rested or injured it will be Xerri who most likely comes in right?
Xerri is also a Ruc/Fwd and that means he can be useful to cover short term ruck injuries, if you plan to get a Fwd/Ruc (like Westhoff) in your forward line.

Tom Campbell is the back up Ruck for Goldy.

Ok, so no games for Xerri if Goldy is out? That rules him out i suppose. I read he was second in line:unsure:
He didn't manage to play a full season at VFL last season, so unless Goldy and Campbell go down then he is unlikely to see action in 2019.

Given Daw's "fall", I'd see Brown in the Ruck and McKay/Larkey before Xerri.

Next man up. Goldy > Daw > Campbell > Brown > Larkey/MCkay > Xerri. Preuss would not have been traded if North knew that vertigo was in the picture for one of it's players. I'm still not sure why the trade was ever completed in the first place.

Yeah it is unfortunate, I am hoping everyone stays fit and Brown can sit in the goal square all year. I am 50/50 with the trade, we could let Preuss keep burning away in the VFL, but to Melbourne???

Let's wait and see how Tyson goes in our midfield mix (that was ranked around 16th for clearances last year) before we judge too harshly.

Indded, can't rely solely on Cunnington to be the only strong body around the ball - we really needed somebody else to feed the ball out to all those running types (Higgins, Polec, Hall, Anderson etc.)

What do you guys think of Dumont? 5 good games to finish with 2 of those being very good scores.

Rate him highly, but I don't think is quite supercoach relevant just yet. Will be a great get in the later rounds of a draft league, loves the contested footy

Chances of getting two rookies in the ruckus to start the year ?

Does anyone know of the chances that Fort,Clarke,Sweet (or anyone else I’ve missed) play ?
