Midfield roulette was Walsh E on Thursday night and Gibbons on bench beside him. Constable started straight on field last night.
Willem Drew and Bailey Scott my other rookies I trying on field for rest of round. Duursma I leaving on bench.

Forward roulette was Setterfield E on Thursday night and Balta on bench beside him. Matthew Parker starting on field for remainder of round and I will take Setterfield emergency score of 69 via a FWD/MID loophole agent on field.

If Walsh scored higher than Setterfield that FWD/MID loophole agent would be on field in midfield instead via Wilem Drew switched to play on field up forward.

Defence roulette was Jordan Clark straight on field to start and today E on Hore for Melbourne. Loophole agent on field down back at present and see how Hore goes first. If Hore scores well I certainly take his score via loophole agent. If he goes bad I still got time to play around with my other defender rookies. Rozee was in my squad last night but his expense turned me off as I do not like to have too many expensive teenage rookies in the squad. I prefer older Sam Collins with stronger job security and Walsh. Hard to justify 3 expensive rookies to myself unless super confident in all three. With Port trying a few rookies at once it pushed me towards thinking it easier for Rozee to go out of their side if they struggle in opening couple of rounds.

How many loopholes are you running?

Finalised my rookie line-up for round 1

Def: Clark (69), Wilkie, Hore (Duursma E, McKay)
M: Walsh (68), Butters, Constable (85) (Wagner E, Scott, Atkins)
R: (Bines)
F: Setterfield (69), Drew (Balta E, Parker)

Ended up going with very few of the higher priced rookies - Collins, Scrimshaw, Jones, Rozee, Hately etc. Going to back them all bar McKay/Parker (and now Balta) to score within the 60-70 range so the extra cash makes a huge difference - plus McKay and Parker probably have better JS than all bar Collins anyway.

How many loopholes are you running?
2.5 of them. A few are each way bets of actually becoming cash cows down the track.
It is pushing your luck having this many as you still need to make cash but I am comfortable working with loophole agents so happy to go with it and see how it works for me. I can always remove one over weekend if I feel the need.

To be clear all my Defender, Midfield and Forward emergencies I have been able to look at their score first and then decide if I want to include it or not.

Ruck line is far trickier as no real room to try E on rookie rucks with having both Gawn and Grundy. So i got Westhoff FWD/RUC up forward as back up if they ever injured and the guy at R3 is very different to most but I will keep that to myself for now as might give me a slight edge down track if things go well.

Which 2 of Walsh, Constable and Scott on field?
Tough call, glad you can choose 2, I can only choose 1... which will be Walsh, no reason not to put the brownlow fav and Carlton's b&f onfield. I didn't see any Scott footage, so I won't comment on the validity on the comparison of the other two, but I'd be moderately confident in running Constable, don't think he'll turn in a menapoo performance on you.

Thanks, yeah it's really a toss-up. I thought good things of Walsh so I'll probably run with him. Didn't see Scott either but Constable was good too.

Seems like Constable is a genuine roulette. Experienced guys could take his midfield rotations at any point.
They'd be silly if they stunted his growth I think. Direct Selwood replacement for when the great man decides he's lost enough blood.

There was a piece of play on Friday night where Constable won a clearance from a boundary throw in and dished the outlet handball and before it had reached the players hands, can't remember who is was exactly Duncan I think, he was already screaming at him and pointing to the man down the line for the next disposal.

Instantly reminded me of a young Selwood and there aren't too many players that can stack up against him.

That being said, doesnt mean they won't plonk him in a forward pocket though

Yeah agree but if the game is there to be won, Selwood and Ablett should be in the middle over him.

Interesting to see Jelwood’s CB rotations down and him playing mainly on a wing.

I assume i'll stick pretty close to my R1:

- Scrimshaw, Clark
- Walsh, Atkins, Butters/Constable
- Drew, Setterfield/Parler

Parker and Constable the obvious questions.
