Looking to double downgrade this week but really unsure of Z Clarke. Any bombers fans know Z Clark's JS? not sure if he's worth getting as a R3 (bines swing to Drew to pocket cash). I remember reading somewhere that McKernan was out for a while but not sure if it's worth pulling the trigger. Could be useful during the byes (assuming he lasts till then) or for a cash grab in several weeks time....

Thanks in advance! :)

Zac Clarke is an interesting one mate...

He was brought over from Freo when Luenberger retired.. He's effectively a start-up replacement for Bellchambers if he goes down, but Worsfold has also stated the Sam Draper (VFL ruckman) is close to getting a game as well.

When Clarke has played, he hasn't set the world on fire.

I know this doesn't help your problem, but now that McKernan is out for 6-7 weeks (Hammy), Clarke joins a group of about 4-5 players (Stewart, Brown, Clarke, Daniher) that could come in and take that tall forward role, if Bellchambers takes No.1 Ruck. Now if Daniher returns, I don't expect Clarke to get a solid string of games that will make him worthwhile getting.

However, if Bellchambers had a LTI, then Clarke would be in a much better JS spot as a pure ruckman.

Sorry for the long-winded response haha!

Thanks for the reply buddy, was going to give rep but not sure where the button is nowadays ;)

By the uncertainty of your reply has confirmed what I thought about his JS, might let him pass through to the keeper

Has anyone figured out whether we are likely to get enough cash generation from our rookies to get a fully upgraded team? It’s feeling a bit short at the moment.
I was looking at this last night , currently fielding 9 rookies onfield (and about 6-7 so called premiums who are scoring like duds)

Doubt Balta , Bines & Gibbons will make any $$$ , even if you sideways trade them their replacement rookies may or not make $$$ themselves so how many sideways trades can you keep making ?

Who knows if Scott returns and Butters now looks iffy.

Think I just need to milk every $ out of my playing rookies and hopefully find enough fallen premiums under $ 500k to have a "compromised" rookies.

Might just pick 2-20-8 next year from the get go.

Yeah, Balta is a problem and doesn’t look like kick starting Cash Gen any time soon, it al least Gibbons looks like he might get to a $50k profit. Binned is my loophole donut for the season and I never expected him to make any cash.
The problem I see is that even a few of the good rookies are throwing up some cash gen killing scores or getting dropped and then the next wave of downgrade targets seems to be doing the same as well.
At this stage I am seriously considering downgrading a few of my more expensive / underperforming premo’s in order to free up some cash... this is far from ideal however.
On the other hand, maybe I’m being impatient and just need to delay upgrade season in order to give the slow burners time to moo.

I downgraded Mundy & Fyfe to rookies , so sitting on that cash with the hope of the onfield rookies getting to that $ 250-300k mark by about Round 6 , but now that looks hard as well , like you said one dud score slows everything or they get dropped.

Richmond have 3-4 back this week or next so not even sure on Ross & Stack.

Feel if I keep shuffling deckchairs , I will be even worse off in a month or so and run out of deckchairs.

Think I just need to sit tight for the next 2 weeks at least and then re-assessing , certainly annoying & frustrating though.

Cheers but I already have Coniglio if that's who you meant. I'm not sure about Yeo because I'm worried he won't consistently score above 100 at his price! Ideally I want to swap out one of the port adelaide rookies but to be honest I've got no clue what I'm doing!
My team is below! any advice is much appreciated!
Thanks!!

Hah yes Cogs = Coniglio around here.
Yeo can sure pump out some solid scores when he gets going but I appreciate your point. Merret looks like he could be solid this year so that's an option.

To be honest, if you don't like your trade options, don't trade! Your team looks fairly well setup and holding Sheed won't wreck your year by any means.

It can be temptimg to use cash if it's burning a hole in your pocket, but use it well! In a week or maybe two you could go Rozee straight up to Tim Kelly when his price drops after his low score this week.

I'm considering buddy as a forward trade in. Against a ranceless Richmond - could explode. Is it crazy?

Anybody going Goldy to Mummy?

I suspect is a very sound moneyball play but doubt I could pull the trigger.

With cash generation drying up I could put that $200k to good use however no Ruck cover is a much bigger risk with Mummy than it is with Goldy and there is currently no decent RUC/FWD to target to assist in that regard.
I was just thinking the same thing re Stef Martin. Was all primed to rage trade him to Grundy at lockout but now thinking Mummy might be the go to conserve/generate some cash.

Thoughts?

Butters -> Ross/Stack
Setterfield -> Marshall

Would’ve liked to see Marshall against Melbourne first and not expecting a big score this week.

Is it risky to bring him in now with the following schedule

Melbourne (Gawn + Pruess)
GWS (Mumford)
Adelaide (Jacobs)
WC (Easy)
Collingwood (Grundy)

They go in likely losing 4 or all of those 5 matches as well as mostly being against tough opponents.

English did go alright against Grundy going huge so maybe he just needs to get 15 or so touches in these games and 15-20 Hitouts.
