Ranked 29th

And deciding to trade constable and Clark to Rockliff and Lockhart

I know that constable will go up, however this is the easiest way for me to get rocky in this week

Will also be able to take the highest score of stack and Parker
No possible way to rid yourself of Parker instead of Constable? I'm assuming not, but just thought I'd check.

Think I've settled on Rozee > Baker

I toyed with bringing Rocky in for Butters, but none of my other mid rookies will be ready next round to bring in Hately or Hayes and Rocky will still be sub-500k for the next 3 weeks.

Next week will get one of the above plus Kelly or Daniel. Have the option to bring in either of those for Clark this week too if I have a bad start but I think squeezing the extra $20k out of him this round will be important down the line

Thank you for the input everyone. I’m a bit of a risk taker but I will sleep on it nonetheless.

I think the Swans are a lot better side that what they’ve shown so far so that’s probably a factor in me considering this.
The issue is buddy not the swans. Kicked a few and still didnt score well. His possessions count tells you how he is tracking . Didnt train last year. I always prefer to see the player post two good scores.

Moore -> Baker

Dunno why.... but it feels a little off. The other option is Clarke to baker, but it nets me 100k less.

Thoughts? Doesn't feel like Moore will be a keeper, so not sure how much more cash I should be expecting from him.

Second trade, butters -> Rocky. Has burned me so many times in the past but his ceiling is so high...
Same dilemma, except weighing up collins or clarke for baker vis burgess dpp.

Less cash although does clarke get rested or omitted this week. Sunday game yet decision needs to happen on wednesday!

Parker a little cheap and prefer burgess at d8 with bines f8.

i am not a fan of lockhart. dont get me wrong his very cheap but his JS seems very shaky and his scoring potential worries me. He played in round 2 and 3 and was dropped. i can understand that coaches need to make a downgrade this week but i would only be considering baker.

Thanks for the input...

What's the consensus on Rocky? His ceiling is obviously massive, and he looks in good touch. I'm just concerned about his durability and the inevitable second trade to move him on when he has a soft tissue.

At $450k is the value that good I should just suck it and see? He's burned me SEVERAL TIMES in the past lol

Same, been burnt by Rocky previously. Looks very fit, durability not an issue only bad luck. I'm going to wait a couple more rounds.

Baker's job security looks fine, for now.

A few poor games in a row, ala Matt Parker, would see him struggling to keep Shai Bolton out of the side in his spot.

I had Lockhart in my team from the start, with his sole purpose of a FD, bonus cash that he's in. Goodwin likes his mature agers, a la Fritsch. He's currently playing half back so the Dees get some run, already criticised for speed with Jones and Lewis. Lockhart I agree would have shakey JS but is doing his bit for the team, not a high possession winner either. He was in the team the other week, but withdrew with back spasms. It's a risk some people are willing to take that suits their current strategy, whether cash generation, dpp or warm body for a downgrade option.

Just saying that Lockhart was dropped because of back soreness, not poor form.

Thoughts on whether a B Scott to M Hore trade is worthwhile. Started Hore but traded him due to JS concerns in RD3 and with his low be and performance in conjunction with N Jetta's lengthy absence I'm looking to bring him back.

Will likely feature in a double downgrade involving S Collins to L Baker which means J Darling stays and T Kelly comes in for M Parker next week.

I’ve gotten a rookie after the price rise quite a few times over the years and most of the time, I usually end up disappointed (DBJ, Ronke...) That first price rise is usually the biggest so it’s probably likely that the rookie only makes another 100-120k from there. Whilst not the worst result, it’s hardly a massive win either.

I’d probably rather grab Lockhart as he could make a similar amount. Unless you are confident that Hore can make closer to $150-200k from here.

I'm a little nervous about Lockhart - not much inspires me apart from his $102k price tag.

I find myself moving Scott to Ross and Bines to Baker but taking a cash hit to set rookies in place. Going a Collins/Clark type to Lockhart puts some coin in the coffers for an upgrade next week but still doesn't feel right.

Technically speaking he was not dropped goind into round 4, he was a late withdrawal due to injury.

Not sure it changes much, as I agree his scoring potential seems somewhat limited.

Bit torn this week. Currently looking at one up, one down:

Parker -> Baker
Clark -> Laird

I think Hayes and Hately will be must haves next week, so will be forced into a double downgrade.

My issue with that is that I think Oliver goes BANG this week or next, and I'll miss the chance to get him in at $550k. But the only way to get him in would be to flick LDU or Scott early. Tricky business.

Think I'm gonna go Collins and Parker to Daniel and Baker via Moore.

Baker looks the goods, and is a mature age rookie - which gives me a bit more confidence that he can keep going on with it.

Leaves my team looking like:

Whitfield, Hurn, Williams, Moore, Scrimshaw, Hore (Duursma, Clark)
Cripps, Oliver, Coniglio, M Crouch, Steele, Walsh, Constable, Stack (Gibbons, Scott, Atkins)
Grundy, Gawn (ROB)
Danger, Heeney, Kelly, Daniel, Drew, Baker (Bines, Balta)

And 176k in the bank, 6 trades used. Bolded still need to be upgraded.

Next week's plan looks to be to get both Hayes and Hately in, building the warchest for a double upgrade before Round 7. Team is progressing nicely.
