Copped quite a few bullets so far....Rocky/Fyfe concussion, RGray’s 40s into an LTI, Marshall late out donut (and missing Parker’s 60 odd), Whitfield and now Josh Kelly! Hurts when most of those names are quite unique... Hopefully there’s some good karma around the corner for me....

Not so much rant as despair.

Good team on paper but just continues to fail to produce.

Rockliff 58
Oliver 96
Coniglio 87
Macrae 107 (ok but thought it deserved more)
Worpel 70
Heeney 68
Liberatore 58

Really not sure what to do.....

Angry at myself for not picking up Darling, I knew he was going to turn it around and would be a good F7 loop.

And although he scored a 49 everything in my gut was saying avoid this Hayes rookie....we will see how that pans out over the next 3 weeks.

Knowing that the Richmond and Melbourne rookies are going to punish non owners all the way to the byes. Already looking like Stack, Baker and Hore are top 5 SuperCoach players within their teams. So much falls with supposed premiums at their top end (injuries/form). Add Lockhart and Ross to the rookie bonanza list.

Can’t see these rookie scoring dropping off and so no matter how well I now upgrade it feels like there is no way to recover from not having these rookies!

Only hope now is some carnage so that ya conservative traders can make up ground.

Baker is the only one I have! Stack come to early for me, no money in downgrading and i missed Ross thinking i would get Hately instead.

Lockhart looked a poor scorer and i traded out Hore after people said he had no job security and was dropped, lol.

You are spot on about those of us who have missed many of these guys being far behind the eight ball now upgrading season is here.

Indeed, I'd also like to add Gibbons to the list of laments...I traded him out just before he busted out grrrrr.

Missing Stack for one more Butters price rise was a terrible decision.

I <expletive deleted> give up. I have Danger as captain and Clark on field. Sums up my current predicament perfectly.

Every week some spud my opponent has tears it up. So bloody frustrating

Gibbons on field 102
Petrucelle on field 105
Miers on field 100+

The 2 games under 120 that Neale has had have been the only weeks when my opponent hasn’t had them.

Libba scores 50 odd and my opponent doesn’t have him, Rockliff scores 140 and that opponent does have him.

Just give me some god damn luck!

I'd like to give a big shout out to Lance Franklin. He's really added a dynamic to my team that I didn't think possible before trading him in as a POD pick.

Backstory for all:

I traded in Buddy approximately 16hrs before his match in round 6 as I wished to trade Collins out (who had the night game on the day before). News broke of his injury approximately 1hr before his game. Couldn't slap the E on Parker as the St Kilda game had begun before the news broke around 45 minutes earlier. Parker scores 60 odd.

Round 7, no show.

Now Round 8, not named.

To top it all off and for a good giggle at my expense, one of my mates (before the trade) was quite against me grabbing him as he affectionately calls Mr Franklin "Donuts". I am now to find out that this prophecy has come true and I am left with 3 donuts for my brilliant and keen insight into choosing a POD forward.

EDIT: I should also add that I was playing said mate in that round 6 match up, eventually losing to him by less than 5 points, due to Atkins scaling up at the last moment. It was like a many layered 'I told you so' that cut me on so many levels.

I was wondering why you were heading over to the rant thread when i saw you post about that tweet. Wasn't sure why because no one seemed to be especially relevant (respectfully i say that) but now i know why haha

It's a fun ride having Buddy that's for sure!

As much as I love Roughy, I think it was a good call from Clarko. Most coaches wouldn't do it. (y)

I could rant about other coaches decisions, but half my team's so bad it doesn't make a lot of difference if they play or I get a donut.
so do you drop him for a week , a month or say that's it Roughy thanks for the career but you play VFL or retire ?

He'll be back. They were saying on 7 news that he was told before he re-signed for the year they might play him in the VFL at times, so I doubt it is a shock to him. He is too good for the VFL, and has given a lot for the club, but the Hawks need to get games into their younger players - fact is Roughy won't be playing next year, and I sure don't see the Hawks winning the flag this year (unfortunately), so it probably is the best call for the club. Tough call to make, but the right one.

based on your reply , it probably does make sense then.

Be interesting to see what Clarko does at the end of the season , saw a graphic that they had 8-9 30+ players , won't get sentimental as he showed when he moved Lewis & Mitchell on , be interesting if they try and trade in players again or go the Draft and try and rebuild that way

*** is GWS doing making a guy play out a full game when he's going to miss the next two weeks due to injury......their media department and medical staff are Lord Voldemort with all things related to players bodies. Dont trust them. Whitfield better be back next week.
