I was seriously looking at Ziebell over Dunkley last week at 425k but his 64 the week prior scared me.

Goes on to score 140 and back playing a pure midfield role instead of forward.

Hopefully that doesn’t come back to bite me, he looks a good cheaper forward alternative to the masses.
If he didn't have a bad bye for me I'd probably be looking to bring him in this week.

Instead trying to decide between Billings and Walters

Thanks mate. I’m inclined to agree re JS. Minor positive that Wills has been named on the ground in the ruck line, but the Pies aren’t exactly short of midfielders, and De Goey and Adams hopefully aren’t far away. Marsh is more mature than most rookies, but appears to have already been dropped once - not a good sign.

@Monya Meow Meow, I am also considering going early on Young, or late on Burgess (named at full back after Collins’ injury, DPP), FWIW. Young looks okay but obviously removes an option next week, which isn’t ideal. There’s a decent chance Burgess actually doesn’t hit his BE this week (40s), so in a sense there’s no great rush, but he seems to have the best JS of the lot, and a change of role and DPP could make him appealing. You’d hope he would score better in that role, especially once he settles into it.

@Lgndhen23, good to hear you don’t have to go digging through these sorts of rookies, hopefully that gives you another leg up!

I’ll likely just take Hately if he makes the cut, but I think I need a backup plan in case that doesn’t happen.
Already have Burgess so going early on Young or bringing in Marsh/ Hately seems to be my only options. Will take whoever is named and if both named, will probably go Hately.

What round 14 forward bye players do you have? That is one of the better forward bye rounds for most teams.

I've changed my trade plans, traded out ROB for Ziebell, but he's named in the forwards, if he plays there I'm in trouble. Looking at a possible donut with Drew, Danger onfield, have Corbett as cover for 1 of them, but have Parker too, who could be dropped. Ideally I don't want to trade Young in yet, could be a replica of Parker. Only 8 touches 2 goals and some tackles for a 69. If he relies on goals and tackles, he's not going to score well, need at least 15 touches to have an impact.

No forwards but have Whitfield, Williams, Smith, Cripps, Sloane, Coniglio and Goldstein, as well as Balta, Baker and Corbett who should hopefully be gone by then anyway and Stocker and Scott who will probably not be playing

The one thing making hesitate in trading out ROB this week is Fort. If he goes bang against GC with another good game he will be looking at a 3rd game with a massive BE.
JS is obviously shaky but just needs to play another 2-3 games to make it a good trade.
Or he may disappear after this round and won’t be seen for the rest of the year.
Almost feels like we need another week of information to make a more informed decision.
I think if you have Bines it may now swing things much? Eg:

ROB to Young then
Parker to Fort

Or

Parker to Young then
ROB to Fort

If you knew you were going to do these trades for certain, you’d do the second option given breakevens.

The ins and outs look to be the same though, and it allows you to not hold ROB this week if there are other benefits to doing so, while waiting and seeing on Fort.

But if you brought in a non round 14 bye player you couldn’t utilise them very effectively in the forward line in round 14 anyway as you’d have a full team of playing forwards unless you have some forward mid loops where you can put forwards up to the mids to cover Cripps/Sloane/Cogs.

Ideally at this stage 7 premiums out round 14 isn’t too bad. Ideally Goldstein to Grundy/Gawn would occur after round 13 anyway wouldn’t it?

Ideally. Yeah it would .

Not sure if that'll be an option for me. I'm going to be running pretty short on trades (should have approx. 4 left after my team is complete) so those sort of luxury trades aren't really an option for me.

Do you think Ziebell will score considerably more than Billings or Walters to o***et the extra pressure on my byes?

I would have through Billings will be more consistent, but agree Ziebells ceiling is higher and can possible average more?

I think they’d score similar from here but Billings also shares a bye with Merrett, Fyfe, Ryan, Worpel, Sicily, Boak, Duursma, Butters, Marshall, Steele, Macrae, Dunkley, Libba, Bont.

Do you have 6-7 of those too?

So... Anyone got any advice as to how I avoid a donut this week?

Might have to trade Drew and Crouch, but really don't want to... IMG_20190524_110533.jpg

Finding myself looking for trades I don't hate rather than trades I love.
Have just tried this on for size:

Parker & Gibbo to Marsh (via Answerth) & Tom Lynch.

Don't hate it but if Hately is named it could become same two out to Hately & JJK.

Parker & Gibbo are going to leak and also have low scores (Walsh is leaking also but scoring ok).

Could keep Gibbo and trade Constable instead and that would allow Toby Greene to be considered
