Not sure if you'd call him a rookie but Harley Bennell kicked 2 goals and had 30 touches in his return game for Peel. Played a majority of game time too. Would expect him to play WAFL at least until after the bye. Fingers crossed for him

Could be an awkward one if he does come back round 13.

Would be on the bubble round 15 when most would only be looking to upgrade. Don't know if you would trust him as cover because he would be managed or an injury risk for the rest of the year you'd think

Probably would need between 4-6 weeks solid games in the WAFL surely before they would consider him.

I still have "deadwood" on my bench like Burgess , Setterfield , Wagner (?) , Scott etc + Answerth & Young so he might be a "fun" trade.

I can picture my side now with Hanneberry & Bennell + Rocky.

On Bewley debut

Midfielder Bradley Hill has praised the efforts of 24-year-old midfielder Brett Bewley, who made his debut in a thrilling one-point win against Brisbane at Optus Stadium on Sunday.

It was a case of quality over quantity with Bewley totalling five kicks and six handballs at 90.9 per cent efficiency in his first taste of AFL football in a high-intensity contest.

Hill praised the composure of Bewley, who he thinks will only make more of an impact with time.

“I thought he was terrific,” Hill said.

“It was some of those kicks he took late in the game. He’s got a terrific kick on him and to be able to pull the trigger one some of those kicks into the corridor in your first game, it was terrific to see.

“He’s only going to get better and he’s going to keep on building.

“He’s a pretty big body for a winger and I reckon he’s going to be a good player for us throughout the future.”

Hill also praised the efforts of another mature-age draftee in Luke Ryan, who was one of Freo’s stars with 32 disposals, 13 contested possessions, seven rebound 50s and 16 intercept possessions.

“Luke’s been terrific for us all year, he’s our roll-off defender and we like getting the ball in his hands,” Hill said.

“He’s one of the best kicks in the team. He’s having an outstanding year and he’s only been playing in the AFL for three years now.

“He’s going to keep on improving, he’s a terrific young player.”

Think you need to praise yourself for yesterdays effort Bradley - you were bloody mighty. Miss you in the brown and gold.

Snelling and Deluca seem the most likely to be relevant for SC purposes. Wouldn't be that surprised to see Snelling straight in for a debut, given that Essendon will have Shiel and Stringer out this round, to go with Devon out the week before. Small inside mid, seems to be a Devon replacement.

Woosha could bring in Myers and DClarke in before him though..... Not much to lose just giving Snelling a crack though.

If I had to hazard a guess it would probably happen after the bye rounds are all done with - it would make sense to give him a few weeks to acclimatise to football at AFL level (a mini-preseason of sorts) if they actually see him as a longer term prospect, rather than a short term rental.
