With the way the games at scheduled this week, I can't wait and see how Clarke goes as Balta and Baker play on Friday - so I'll have do decide on Bewley or Clarke before the round starts - I really would prefer Clarke. Well I did before I knew Shiel, Fantasia and Springer were coming back this round. Makes me sway to Bewley a little more.

Without much to base my opinion on and no word from Ken as far as I know, I would assume Dixon back next week after a week of rest. Westhoff is ultra cheap and fits nicely into my trade plans this week, however I can expect a low score if Dixon isn't back... can I please get some opinions: will the Hoff return to premo scoring when Dixon returns? AKA should I pull the trigger?

Edit: So what looks like confirmation that Dixon won't play this week... Wines in the mix: https://m.portadelaidefc.com.au/news/2019-06-11/hinkley-couldnt-be-happier-with-dixon-return

I wouldn't say he'd be back at premo levels, but could get 85 to 90 and the odd ton. Depends where Ken plays him.

Just a word of caution, Tigers playing Thursday. ?

After reviewing, I think Milera will be the "value upgrade. I can sort of complete my team coming out of byes by going to Milera over a more expensive option, and I really rate Milera as a footballer, so happy to go there. Hopefully he works back into 90-100 form.

I'd still have Libba and Brad Crouch, and a mid priced madness forward line, but I'm happy enough with both of those, and will probably have the $$ left over to upgrade Libba the following week. Crouch is hopefully a keeper.

I don't really rate the forward options so happy to sit on the mid pricers, and probably trade in Curnow once he's matured a bit (averaging about 94 when on field since I bought him), swing Gray forward and bring in another fallen premium mid (guessing Zorko or similar) for the final push.

Great minds - I was thinking of Mummy to a forward or mid via Hoff (and maybe Heeney) given Mummy’s high BE and terrible recent scores. At least Grundy went low, so he will be a bit cheaper, but the cash gap will still be substantial.

I see Hinkley is disinclined to rush Dixon et al back ... hopefully post byes.
I was wondering whether you still had Mummy or not, he was quite good until 3 weeks ago, losing too much cash now to keep..................was going through alternative rucks last night looked at Lycett, Ryder, and started crying when I considered Bellchambers :) so looked at getting a mid in (Crouch was always on my radar after his bye so just 2 weeks early)

This morning I had a crazy thought to see who Freo pick to ruck (Jones or Meek) and see if that could be a option.

IF I find a reasonable downgrade target for Answerth (D7) & Setterfield (M9) I might have enough $$$ to go Duursma - > BBQ/Sloane and then Walsh to Grundy but going to have a crap bench for the run home

Westhoff at R2 gives me a bit of thinking space to evaluate, maybe Grundy gets down to $ 625 k.

So much easier to have started Gawn/Grundy + Goldstein, hindsight is such a wonderful thing.

Out: Answerth, Balta, Baker
In: Fyfe, Marshall, Bewley
Still rolling with this, which will give me 20 playing but only 19 onfield.

Going to have to loop Stack and Bewley, would have worked better if Bewley played first but chances are his score will be 19th or 20th anyway (hopefully).

Next week I'll have 22 available! Is next week looking like the easiest bye round?

Forwards
No rookie forwards in the pipeline to help with upgrades so I plan to complete my forwards with:
Moore > Boak
Atkins > Gray via Setterfield dpp.
Leaves me with Balta and Parker on the pine and would like to moo Balta now he is playing down back and losing cash but not sure how.
Mids
Not to keen on Bewley and would rather wait for Clarke to be on the bubble, depending on JS’s.
I would like the final mid upgrade to be P Cripps but will wait till after his bye, and also to see if he gets affected by a serious tag from now on.
Backs
Need a few of these and Should be able to complete some upgrades in the next few weeks. Want to get in J Lloyd as he scores like a mid and is unlikely to be tagged. A few possible rookies coming through.
Rucks
Have had Grawndy from the start. No way am I trading Grundy out.

Is Milera really an upgrade on Witherden? Or would I be jumping from one sinking ship to another?
It's a good question. Really depends on Milera's role. If used forward his scoring will suffer. I'd be buying thinking that I always rated him as a keeper when I got him at the start of the season, and was happy enough with his output. I sold when he got injured, and can get him back now at a discount.

I might have to check my bye structure though.

Milera could have easily had 100+ if he was a bit cleaner and kick the ball forward a bit more.

I know any players scoring would increase ‘if they did this’ but I think there was some positive signs.

I actually think he's a very talented and clean player - just don't get enough of the ball. Scores mainly from being effective or contested.

He's no Laird at racking up the pill

I really want to bring in Boak, or even Bont, but I think I'll chase the value in Robbie Gray. His floor scares me.

I'm actually quite well positioned for next week's $1.4m spend to bring Grawndy in... but the week after I'd rather have money for a premo that have to go bargain basement shopping for my last mid.

THoughts on Gary Ablett Jr being a midfield POD?

Apparently they have a easy run home and has had some hot games. Priced at 489000

Who would be better value? I was thinking of bringing in Neale, but then if i go for a slightly cheaper midfielder like Treloar, Ablett, O'Meara I can use players like Settlefield to trade out instead of using Walsh.
