Wow, that's a nightmare season in the Rucks. Here I was annoyed I traded ROB a week early.
yep believed too much on here preseason about Rucks not backing up , no doubt I will start both next season and ROB , Darcy & English will surpass them earlier than we thought , live and learn I guess (maybe)

I was very determined to not start with the Gawdy but the other options seemed to stumble right at round 1 and its scared me off. I think I was going to run Zac Clarke at ruck 2 but he hurt himself final pre season game. What a bullet i dodged!!

Hindsight is wonderful think I needed to start at least 1 of them and then try and get the other one, think there were enough viable mid pricers to start (eg Smith, Williams, Rocky, Crouch, Libba, Worpel etc) but then you read that any more than 2 mid pricers is too many, so you adjust your thinking again, maybe Gawn + Grundy + 28 rookies would have been better)

I was Goldy and English, then traded them both out for ROB & Mummy, then ROB to Goldy , trade Mummy out last week and now have Westhoof at R2 and still no closer to either Gawn or Grundy and Gawn has risen $ 13.9 k from his starting price and Grundy has dropped $ 32 k

be interesting to have seen what people would have done if Titch and Doc were not injureat the start of the season.

@Herbie66

Looks pretty good to me. Rance likely just a stepping stone these days though.
Never too early to start planning , be interesting if they give Docherty another 30% discount (just be auto-select).

Doedee & Rance both should be $ 300-325 k ish but agree stepping stones.

Birchall will be interesting , hopefully he gets his body right and plays some senior games......then what does Clarko do with him and a few others at Hawthorn.

Definitely not too early, especially if this season is not living up to expectations!

Who else do you have your eye on?

Mitchell & Ward , Anderson & Rowell are apparently better than Walsh

couple of blokes called Gawn & Grundy

Daniher , Lynch (Richmond) , Smith

It's actually quite unprecedented that two players are looking to have two consecutive 20+ game seasons at 125+ average, let alone two rucks.
Dangerfield has only done that once.
Pendlebury has never done it (124.4 in 2014 was very close however).
GAJ, the Supercoach GOAT did it for four seasons in a row.
And that's about it in recent times.

So I think this year has been pretty special, and Gawn and Grundy need to be put alongside some of the greatest SC players there have been.

I guess now the big dilemna/question will be whether or not they can do it for 3 seasons in a row and whether we just start the both of them , they could even start 2020 more expensive than they did 2019 or take the risk on a "stepping stone" ruckman.

Even if they both revert back to 110-115 they are still clearly ahead of the next best ruckmen.

Ironically, the Ruck stepping stones were there this year, they just didn't play until R3 (ROB/Mumford) and one of them wasn't listed as a Ruck (Marshall). Here's hoping 2020 is a bit kinder.

Apart from @Drew no one had given any thought of ROB.

As a Mumford owner things were looking ok when he got to $ 450k then he fell off the cliff for 3 rounds , I guess it was still a matter of finding the $ 200k ish then to upgrade him.

One thing I've learnt in fantasy footy over all these years is that rucks are not the place to traditionally take risks - the options are often limited should something go wrong. We've all had those seasons Herbie with rucks and why it's set and forget for me each year

I tend to agree. Gawndy until we’ve got a reason not to, although NicNat could be a consideration if it takes him a while to get going...especially if one of Gawndy have an interrupted preseason like this year....

Marshall looks like could be in the starting convo too I guess.

Is there a minimum number of games that need to be played for players to be priced at their average?

Looking at a couple of my Dons using a MN that I worked out to be around 5428 this year.

Daniher 4 @62.3 = $338,160
Dev 7 @68.7 = $372,900

Crows coloured glasses Herbie? That being said, it was publicised (in Adelaide at least) that he would’ve got games last year and Sauce would’ve be rested if he didn’t get injured. I wasn't expecting this solid early run, was expecting a slow burn, but for his starting price he seemed to me the best rookie ruck option to get games.
