I don't know how this bloke is working out his discounts, but everyone who played 7 games last year got a 10% discount which would mean he'd actually be priced around 360K, which would make him even more enticing. A very good chance of being MID/FWD too.
Not sure, not my strong point, but he has been quite consistent throughout the year for price projections, re discounts, not too sure.

Does anyone know off hand (1) when AFL preseasons commence and (2) when we get positions and pricing?

I think the latter is usually quite close to Christmas.

Looks like SC opened 21 January this year from a quick search. I think it may have been possible to get earlier access for Gold members?

Most clubs start preseason prior to Christmas, don't have an exact date.

Thanks mate - you might be right regarding Gold, I have it and usually have a good crack through the Boxing Day Test. I thought it might be fully open a bit earlier but obviously not!

From memory preseason dates depend on when each team bowed out of contention ... the likes of Richmond will come back later because their players were occupied until a month or so after those who missed the finals. The key is usually to identify players who miss the running training (hence my question after the Mitchell video!).

Quick question for those in the know (probably Geelong fans) but who is Geelong's opening ruckman next year?

With Smith leaving the club, could Fort take that mantle from Stanley? Would be entering his second season I think, and if he got a clean run at the number 1 ruck spot for the cats could he be a smoky for R2 in our sides?

I am interested in Hugh Greenwood at the Suns.

These are his stats from Adelaide:
Hugh
Greenwood
Games Played
51

Disposals
16.9
Average

Goals
0.7
Above Avg

Clearances
4.4
Elite

Tackles
6.4
Elite

Contested Possessions
11.3
Elite

I see a lot of upside in SC if he can increase his disposal numbers to 20+ next season. He ranks elite in a few SC friendly areas such as contested possession, tackles and clearances.

I don't watch many interstate games (as free to air doesn't play many) so can anyone give me an accurate description of his role for the Crows over the past 2 years and maybe an opinion whether he can play other roles as well, cheers and looking forward to peoples thoughts.
I like Greenwood but he plays for GC now and his tank isnt the greatest. He might get FWD so one to keep an eye on but a likely no from me at this stage

Going to be hard to fit him in with Whitfield, Dusty, Greene, Heeney :ROFLMAO: (not again) and the discounted guys like Dev Smith, Menegola and TMac to choose from....but could do very well with increased responsibility.

He is such a one dimensional contested player though (even if he can kick a few goals) who struggles with fitness and speed so it is hard to see him having a large ceiling.

From what I've heard, STK 1-4 year players start back sometime next week. So assuming something similar for those sides that missed the finals.

Interesting isnt it that the guys from this years draft will actually be starting their preseasons 3-4 weeks behind others in the team... another thing making it tough for first year players..

So R1 has been released early...

...Hawks play Lions. Get the feeling they will be one of the teams Hawthorn have to play twice - again. This year out of the 5 teams the Hawks faced twice, 4 of them finished in the top 6. Was hoping for a bit easier draw in 2020 seeing they missed finals, but can nearly guarantee the Cats will be at least one of the other teams they play twice. Guess we find out on Thursday.

Rd 1 fixture:

Thursday, March 19
Richmond v Carlton at the MCG, 7.25pm AEDT

Friday, March 20
Western Bulldogs v Collingwood at Marvel Stadium, 7.50pm AEDT

Saturday, March 21
Essendon v Fremantle at Marvel Stadium, 1.45pm AEDT
Adelaide v Sydney at Adelaide Oval, 4.05pm ACDT
Greater Western Sydney v Geelong at Giants Stadium, 7.25pm AEDT
Gold Coast v Port Adelaide at Metricon Stadium, 6.25pm AEST

Sunday, March 22
North Melbourne v St Kilda at Marvel Stadium, 1.10pm AEDT
Hawthorn v Brisbane at the MCG, 3.20pm AEDT
West Coast v Melbourne at Optus Stadium, 3.20pm AWST
