"If Chris Morris's Nelson Mandela Bay Giants make the final in the MSL on December 16 then his availability for the first game of the BBL season on December 17".
Morris will join the Thunder after his commitments with Nelson Mandela Bay Giants in the Mzansi Super League in South Africa end. The MSL final is set for December 16, and the Thunder play the opening game of the BBL on December 17 in Brisbane. Morris' early availability will be tested further given the Thunder play three matches in the first five days of the tournament.

That throws a spanner in the works. Not just Morris either. Hales also plays in the same league for Durban Heat so he may not be available for the Thunder’s first game either if his team makes the final.

Also, the Sixers play the second game of the round the day after the Thunder’s first game and both Curran and Vince play in that T20 league too. Hopefully they would still be able to arrive in Australia in time even if they make the final though.

So Mujeeb could play 1st game of the double and then Z Khan could potentially replace him in the 2nd of the double... alarm bells ringing.:eek::eek:
Seems a bit concerning to me as well but I don’t still understand the rules. I guess we’ll need to know if Z Khan is actually in Australia during the DGW to know if it is actually a possibility.

I was keen on Mujeeb to start for the double but may reconsider

First crack for 2020. $15,500 left over.

Curran, Cutting, Bryant, Morris, Philippe (Jewel, Sutherland)
Carey (Banton)
Faulkner, Chris Green, Bird, Agar, Pattinson (Stanlake, Cameron Green)

Logic behind Faulkner is that I see him being a consistent scorer who I can lock in my side given the canes have no byes all year - similar to Abbott/Curran of BBL08.
Carey becomes Vince if Banton bombs out Game one (sub 5).
Finally, the Sydney Sixer's bowling lineup intrigues me. If Bird isn't first XI, i'll readjust accordingly. Likewise, I'll swap Pattinson for a heat bowler if makes the Australian side. Hopefully Mujeeb plays both games!

Would love to hear thoughts and opinions!

Interesting that Livingstone didn’t bowl in these games, so not a genuine all rounder...?

Nope, not at all. Doubt he bowls much for the Scorchers especially with both Agar and Ahmed in the same team. Should be picking him for his batting abilities. Might get an over or two on spin friendly pitches.

A few traps coming over from England this season. Will be surprised if any actually perform to the hype.
