Why are we looking to pick so many $42k players. Just because they are there? My recall is that the majority of these picks are not startable and limp along as a deadweight to $60k if they even hold their spot.
Are there exceptions I have forgotten? I don’t see this fantasy game as a pure “GnR” style game. You really need at least some of your bench to be startable.
Or is it just a by product of thinking Sams/Lynn types were a necessary spend and there’s just no cash left?
Very good question.
Theoretically you could start 16 x $ 125,000.00 and work your bench to your advantage by not needing to trade in and out players.
Obviously as you know you need "cheapies" to afford the expensive players so it is a balancing act.
I guess if a warm body presents at $ 42k you take it and then hope they can score well enough to make $$$ and have strong enough JS.
I got caught out last year with Edwards , Sutherland and 1 other.
I can see why people are starting With Agar and Short/White on the bench (the batting spot doesn't feature in my plans) but then you start to limit your onfield spending.
Certainly had a abundance of value players $ 125 k and less this season.
Hindsight would have been ideal to start Steketee & Swepson on the Bowlers bench and then started 2 cheap Striker bowlers onfield.
Doesn't seem too many viable $ 62.5 starters though this season (Heazlett a exception so far)
Out of curiosity who are your 5 bench players then ?
