Agar was always going to be in the XI once they announced the Squad and said they wanted a spinning all rounder , so no surprise there.

Turner's record last year season before Smith & Warner were available was quite good and was unlucky to miss out on the World Cup Squad due to his shoulder injury.

Short is essentially a opener , so he is not getting picked ahead of Finch or Warner.a

Probably have 9 spots out of the XI settled so Labuschagne , Turner , Short , Handscomb are battling for 2.

I'd imagine Carey is preferred over Handscomb due to versatility and current form

So to me that leaves the other three for two spots ... based on current form I'd say Turner is very lucky to have been given the nod but time will tell ...

They won't take the gloves off Carey.

Handscomb is supposedly one of the better players of spin in the country , like Turner had a good 12 months when Smith & Warner were missing.

Personally think once Khawaja and SOS missed out they were the next 2 in line.

I actually don't mind the squad they chose , whether it changes going forward we will have to wait and see how these 3 games go.

Doesn't appear to be directed at Root in anyway or anything verbal.

It appears he went into the match with 3 demerit points so plus 1 for "an overly aggressive celebration that was uncomfortably close to the batsmen" means a 1 match suspension.

Using language , actions or gestures which could disparage or provoke an aggressive reaction from a batsmen after his dismissal
