Was an earlier start for this game - I wonder if that has any impact on how many overs are lost. You’d think I’d they can play to, say, 10:30 one night, you can do it another night.

It seems like the bigger factor here is that they don't want the two games in a double header to overlap. To the extent that they hold back the start of the second game if the first one is down to the wire!

Very good point. Personally I don’t love this aspect - it’s supposed to be one level down from international competition, I don’t think they should be so worried about TV scheduling, what time everyone gets home etc over the integrity of the competition.
By all means schedule it that way initially, but don’t sacrifice a proper game as a result.
