I'm going to wait to see what happens over the o***eason with ruckmen changing clubs. Especially looking to see if any second string ruckmen move clubs to where they will become the first string ruckman.

Sandilands and Mumford would be interesting picks next year.
With a full pre-season, either could regain their top form. Also both would be at an affordable price next year

Probably Jacobs if he has a huge pre-season. He will be the cheapest potential top 5 ruck and very few will pick him.

Sandilands would need to be close to a potential cashcow for me to pick him. 99% chance he plays less than 20 games.

Yeah, he's also quite old which doesnt help. Dont know if he will drop under 400K next year but will be hard to resist if that is the case and has a strong preseason.

I was wondering about this, can't think of too many that might move, was some discussion that Mumford and Swans were having difficulty sorting out a contract, would move Pyke to 1st Ruck but not sure if I could bring myself to pick him.

Bellchambers to GWS could be good for him and good for Ryder but would be tough to pick either unless they are significantly cheaper than other options.

As a Swans supporter, I'm not sold on Pyke as the No 1 ruckman either. Speaking of Mumford, Geelong must want him back given the lack of Ruck options they've had this year.

I think Swans might even make a play for Bellchambers if Mumford does not renew.

No love for Lobbe? He seems to have promise to break out and get a bit of consistency

McIntosh will be interesting for sure if he looks good in the pre season.

Kreuz locked at this stage

Ryder....never again!!!!!!!!!!!

Looked at him the other day - meh. Couple of ok scores, one or two big ones, then not much to write home about.

Port supporter and I have no love for Lobbe in Supercoach.

We have Renouf and Redden also on the list.

When Lobbe gets to play as the only ruckmen he can score big but I can't see him playing 18 plus games as the only ruckmen which I think he needs before you can pick him in Supercoach.

I don't think they can ask Westhoff to play a whole year as the back up ruckmen, his year has really slowed down since they stopped playing two recognised ruckmen. Problem is none of our ruckmen can play forward at all.

I think Jolly will retire this year and likely Ben Hudson as well so next year will have Grundy and Witts leading the ruck division.

Set and forget I hope. One will be a DDP though.
This is also my hope and was this year but this comment has made me look at my rucks this year and they have been actively traded, 7 trades is definitely not set & forget.

R3 Kommer to Leuey (301k) (via Blicavs DPP)
R6 Jacobs to B Hill (again via Blicavs link)
R10 Leuey (449k) to Krooze (for 380k)
R13 Macaffer to Roughy (ok not really a ruck trade but he has swung through there)
R16 Blicavs to Mcbean
R17 Buddy to Big Willy (via Rowe DPP)
R20 Krooze (566k) to Pav
so much for set & forget, 7 trades to fill two onfield positions just seems silly and yet due to DPP's, cash generation and donuts I am not upset with this.

I'm strongly considering Brodie Grundy as my R2 for 2014. Looks a gun, beautiful tap work and so clean at ground level. Also covers the ground well, would think he will be there number 1 ruck next year.

Hmac goldstein atm. Nicnat in the fwd line.
if sandi is priced under 400k you'll only need him to play 6 games to be a stepping stone.
will go up in value fairy quick if fit and firing

I'm expecting his Price to be around $310-$330k.
At that Price you can take him and nearly sit him in your R3 spot, and truly make your Rucks set and forget. Particularly if you can find a Grundy type as a cheap R2.
I say it every year, but I still can't believe people are considering HMac. I guess Sandi is nearly as bad.
Maybe just go the Whole shooting match - Goldstein, Grundy, Sandi, HMac and hope you never have to make a trade in your Rucks for the whole year!
