Interesting

Williams last season

With Whitfield 94.5 from 14 games
Without Whitfield 118.16 from 6 games

small sample size admittedly

when Ward returns , I guess the dynamics change again but suspect Jelly & Whit play wing , while AK , Don't Pay , Heater & Zac Attack rotate the HB/BP role

I think i was probably the only schmuck here who punted on him last year (for disastrous results) so won't be going near him until we see an absolutely huge preseason, backed by Longmuir saying something very similar to what Hinkley said about Houston.

Yes, still bitter :ROFLMAO:
No you weren’t the only schmuck. Had the prick from the beginning as my breakout speculative pick. Bombed, but I blame Lyon for playing him out of position. Actually scored ok the few times he went into the midfields though.

Prospectus says he played defence til round 15 and then mid-forward/wing the rest of the year. 97.25 average in those 8 games.
Yep.

As outlined by @Connoisseur earlier in either this thread, he averages 96 when his contested possessions are 7 or greater.
Isn't the CP >7 misleading. If he plays mids and have 6cp and 80sc points, he is a fail. Its his scoring as a mid/wing rather than when over a certain CP that must be the focus.

At this state I have Smith, Houston, Doc and Sicily. Need to see good scoring in Marsh series to validate.

Don't have a lot of confidence in defenders which have a history of bouncing around. Feel these 4 can all be 95-98 which puts them 6-12th on last years list, not ideal.

Out of the top 4, think 3 come back and Houli could maintain if he stays on the park. Last two spots in mids post upgrading expect should be Houli and Lloyd. Hurn age against him, got lucky with starting him last year.

Daniels and Stewart the only other ones I would look at in starting squad, Stewart preseason mixed. Laird may be impacted by Gibbs role.

Thoughts?

I'm starting Nic Newman. He has the ability to go massive and the Blues should look to get the ball in his hands as often as they do Doch as he's surgical by foot. Late starter that I think has found his feet in the league and is rock hard fit by Blues training reports. Think he can get to 105.

I'm bypassing Doch as I don't need another injury risk in my team. I have Houston and Smith at this stage, although Smith could easily become a Daniel type. I'm running a 3 prem defense to start the year if Hill looks solid enough to hold down D4.

Hill fwd now for me due to more semi prem in def picked.

Doesnt doch take away from newman a risk.
