Has anyone wanting to start Treloar prior to his hammy, thought about keeping him if you had a 5 premo midfield? He would become a great pod if not starting round 1 only. Coaches have finalised their line-ups and wouldn't bring him in until confirming he was over the hammy and scoring well. There's obviously a bit of risk involved, but I'd think there wouldn't be too many willing to burn a trade so early.
I'm thinking of keeping him cos I'm looking at a 6-0-5 or a 5-1-5 setup and with a reasonable rookie on the bench. He was a POD before the hammy and will be an uber POD now. Probably no different to holding an injured premo for 1-2 rounds during the season, not ideal and I'm still weighing it up. Bit like Gaff last year I spose.

that would be the advantage vs points lost between a premium and rookie. Ballsy move, but, genius if it works out.

You obviously piqued my interest with the earlier post. One of the reasons I had Treloar in was he's a POD, if I'm running say a Serong or Green at M7 then I think the risk is mitigated somewhat. I'm also unsure whether I should have that sort of player on my bench, guess this might be an example of why.

Anyone else going with Rowell M7 Green M8 with Pickett on the bench? I just don't see where the playing mid rookies are coming from, let alone decent cash generating ones. All good having Rowell, Green and Pickett on field but you need the money to come in from somewhere to upgrade them and at this stage I am quite dubious about the prospect of that happening!

Thoughts on how Tim Kelly will go this year? Looking at him as an option in a 5 premo mid plus Gawn team.
It’s so hard to gauge what his next level is at West Coast in particular. Simpson has come out and said that he’ll play a near identical role at West Coast and will just let him do his thing so that’s one less unknown but how much he can average alongside Yeo, Gaff, Shuey is the concern for me.

I recall reading on BF that he showed up looking a little heavy so not sure what to make of that. There’s also the theory of a player dropping off after signing a contract if you buy into that type of stuff....but then there’s always the 3rd year breakout theory.

I think there’s gotta be some natural improvement in him still but how much not sure.

2018: 22 games @ 93
2019: 22 games @ 103

Jeez you’d take 110. Always concerns me picking your M6-8 as a starter.

I guess you like Oliver too?
Yep, Oliver is also in my top 3 for that price bracket.

Would love to know if Hutchings and/or De Boer will be tagging this season as Clarry comes up against both in the first two rounds.

Each year there is generally a name in the $500k-$550k range that I am happy to have in my team however this year there is not one that leaps off the screen at me. Maybe Callan Ward is the one however with the GWS mid competition I wasn’t convinced and with his late start it rules him out anyway.

Who is the best prospect in that range?

I like crouch but I’d say cogs would be the best.

There's a few I suppose, but the one I have chosen is Lyons @ 535k

In the 15 games from round 10 he averaged 115 with 4 scores below 100 and one of them a 50 which included 9 clangers (off day? wet?) 11 scores over 100 including a 165. I don't think he'll attract a tag as much as Neale or Zorko. He seems to be resilient and hasn't missed many, if any, games through injury over the last 4 years.
