Currently looking at going (will prob change with selections )

OUT

Green
Smith (Dev)
Brayshaw (Andy)
BZT
Roberton

IN

Neale
Doedee
Bennell
Sturt
Rankine
Don't think that its worth it mate. Three of your five trade in's are definitely not certainties to be playing Round 2 (Rankine, Bennell & Sturt).
I think if you're wanting to get Neale I'd be looking for another avenue that doesn't see you bringing in more FWD rookies, and keeping Devon.

I've been thinking about this. I've had versions of trades which put Ceglar and Fort both coming in, which feels very strange.
Forgot all about Ceglar , might open up opportunities in the future in the ruck as well especially if we still end up with bye rounds.

Just because I'm impatient to see round 2 was just having some fun trading Whitfield down to Ceglar and actually provided some decent rookie upgrades on those who look unlikely to play rd2.

Thanks for your reply mate! I agree its a pretty silly move, but this year is throwing some curve balls haha!

Guess it all comes down to which rookies will play rd2 ?

I think they should have to name teams this week so we can think about it all properly ?

Be nice to know how they propose to hold home games if the SA & WA don't relax/lift their border restrictions.

Ceglar could be even more viable if the byes are back.

I am worried about what I do if Naismith dissapointed in a few weeks , which way I can go , Cameron & Williams being named Round 2 would be very good.

I might end up going early on Doedee depending on team selections.

Be interesting how the shorter quarters impact Whitfield , assuming he is a top forward the season he might only drop to that $ 550 k mark so be hard to get him back.

Anyone not looking at grabbing Viney this week?

Bandwagon is picking up some serious steam.
Seems crazy to me. You're adding someone who's a less than 5% chance at being a season keeper, who will need to be traded again, for the sake of a 186 you won't even get to take advantage of (unless you plan to trade him out within a month, and you can bank the $ rise).

With the shorter rounds, we're going to see extreme high scores and extreme low scores. Next week it could be Luke Shuey or Shaun Higgins posting 180, I wouldn't be tempted by them either.

I just picked up both Fort and Ceglar in our Ultimate League, as it happens.
Shame Fort wasn't DPP but who knows what Geelong will do with their Rucks.

Ceglar will be interesting if he gets a good crack at #1 ruck.

Been following some of the posts in the Ultimate League but sounds way to confusing & complicated for me though , looks like a fun concept though trying to balance squads for now and future seasons.

Just been thinking other than the top 2 rucks and 1 midfielder having a more even team of 450-550k players will be the go as rookie generation looks minimal at this stage. I can see a team with the 4th-10th averages in each line and the right 1-2 ulltimate premo winning this strange season.

Yeh hopefully he is named coz i started with him but if not, I will get a lil cash back bringing in Georgiades. That extra coin will b handy if Pittonet is a must have come round 3 if he produces against Gawn.

Interesting thought , running 102-105 players from M2-M8 though I wonder how many points you lose to other teams and whether you can make it up in D & F , might well be a case where D5-6 & F5-6 are compromised positions.

Still would like a majority playing bench Round 2 if possible.

Most combos I come up with I still end up with 7-8 players onfield that will need to be upgraded and if that takes 8-12 downgrades if the cash generation is not there , no idea how to make it work.

Will keep thinking & tinkering.

If Viney can get 2 more 150 score games and 95s in the rest he would end up at 106.8 avg. Players of that average from last are the likes of JPK,Zorko,Merrett,Pendles type around that 14-19th ranked midfield. Around 360 points off the rank 1 midfielder to play all 22.

Only problem is you miss getting his 186 score and he would only average 101.9 pts while in your team.

OUT:
Tom Green
Andy Brayshaw

IN:
Jack Viney
M. Georgiades

what do we reckon
i think this helps with cash gen and think its only negative is if brayshaw pulls him head in and gets a few 100 in a row

Edit: he will be my mid 5

So let's expand that idea.

2 x 150 + 14 x 95 = 1,630 points --> /16 = 102 average in your team.

Viney has one season over 92, which was a 97.
He has never played 22 games in a season, in 8 seasons. His best are 21, 21, 20, 18, 16, 13.
That means in his BEST 6 seasons he averages missing 4 games/season.

So all of a sudden, you are saying "all he needs to do from here is", play 4 games more than his history suggests, at 5/game higher average than he ever has, and 10/game higher average than his base.

That's not what I'd call within the bounds of reasonable expectations.

Different situation he is nowdays with preseason and what not.
Gotta remember 16 games from here and it isn't a regular season.
Can also look at it if you picked him + Naismith + Fort over Gawn and 2 Rookies.
