I'm really keen to bring in guys like Hurn, Howe, Fort etc. but I'm afraid team selection is going to go against me and I'll be forced to do something super-vanilla like this instead:

Round 2:
Cavarra > Sturt
Georgiades > Cameron
BZT > Hill
Green > Bennell
Budarick > Robertson

Round 3:
Roberton > Doedee
Starcevich > Rivers

Do people think we need to bring in playing rookies before we even consider midpricer and luxury premium trades?

Anyone want to project what sort of impact you think Heppell will have on Shiel?

Interesting to note that Zach Merrett played mostly half forward in Round 1. Change of role or was he underdone?
Yeah Freako noted that Zerrett played 44% fwd in R1. I don’t think he was injured, seems like we just let stringer run through the middle more as we didn’t have a good matchup for Fyfe.

After alot of consideration have decided not to trade before tonights game. The only one I would consider getting in is Howe, but really don't want to have to make an extra trade just to make it happen, plus the fact that while I normally focus on overall position, with my bad start I have decided to focus 100% on league results now, and Howe isn't someone I want to have to rely on for a decent score. Viney is another one that I would not rely on and noticed that he only played 75 mins in round 1. Is this normal for him? A more competitive game this time for Melbourne may see something different score wise.

Footy kind of crept up on me and I haven't really looked at my team in a while and I feel like these won't be optimal trades but shouldn't be that bad... I hope. Basically correcting mid-pricers and failed rookies and Bont (after one game?).

OUT: Bont, Roberton, Brayshaw, Cavarra, BZT

IN: Neale, Hurn, Sturt, Bennell (Budarick forward), Rivers

I still have Naismith and Green but I have Cameron on the ruck bench to cover for Naismith if he misses this week.

A chance of missing some wine this weekend

PORT Adelaide is unsure if midfielder Ollie Wines will be available for selection in this weekend's Showdown after the former co-captain breached the AFL's COVID-19 protocols.

Wines was interviewed by Channel Seven at his house on Wednesday, but the League's strict measures for players include not inviting anybody to visit who doesn't live at their house.

I'm trying to get back into Supercoach and care about my trades this week.

Then I look at Ben Long with 51dt : 118sc in round 1 and am reminded how broken scoring is with the game time change which isn't helping at all!
It's a complete crapshoot this season.

I wouldn't move Georgiades out for someone maybe playing 1 game.

Getting cold feet on Tim Kelly. Apparently when he rocked up in Perth he said something along the lines of "I might not get 30 touches anymore but I'll get 15 and 2 goals", or something like that.

Torn, I love the bloke. Might just back him in. Otherwise I'll downgrade him to Viney for cash.

Speaking of which, are many of you going down the Viney route? Realistically, he'll probably make 150k while averaging 90 so he could occupy a spot on field until he becomes the final upgrade.
thought he had to average closer to 122 to make the $ 150k mark

other sites have him peaking at $ 530 k ish if he scores 90's , could lose the $$$ as fast as he makes them

What are those who started with Noah Anderson doing with him?

Is his higher price tag worth the 42 points he managed to put up?

I don't have him, but if I did I'd be holding him. I think he can both improve his scoring a bit to become a decent cash cow, and also has JS better than majority of the other rookies.
