Undecided myself on Grant as I currently have Brailey at the 2nd HOK position and the lower scores from he (Brailey) and Drinkwater means I cannot bring in either Cleary to replace Drinkwater or Haas to replace A Fifita.
As for your side, I'd look to upgrade the CTW (as mentioned by grabbing Best) as it seems to be the weakest part of your 17. K Capewell seems like a solid selection and has the bonus of dpp allowing to be switched with Yeo at a latter stage. L Mitchell could be another to keep an eye on with the Titans, Warriors, Panthers and Bulldogs as opponents over the next month.
Grant/Smith could be reassessed next week as there still should be a difference of $350,000 allowing a top line premium to come in (eg Matterson, etc) or to jump on some players with low breakevens to get rid of the deadweight.

WINNERS
Bradman Best - Smashed his incredible 100 in Round 3 with a 123 point effort against a harder matchup of the Canberra Raiders. The beast is a must have for KFC SuperCoaches especially as he works on that left edge-combination with Kalyn Ponga.
Kalyn Ponga - Sticking with Newcastle Guns, and Ponga had an absolute monster game scoring a lazy 159 points which could have been even better had he not left the field with a HIA. He does have the Storm in Round 5 so if he can score well against them I think we can truly declare Ponga as match-up proof.
Harry Grant - Next up on the must haves list is Harry Grant who scored 72 points without a try in round 4 and actually saw a slight bump in his minutes.
James Tedesco - Was named to play in round 5 after missing last week under the NRL’s biosecurity rules. The Roosters are on fire at the moment and have a juicy matchup with the Bulldogs this week who gave up 152 points to Tommy Tubro in round 3.
Nathan Cleary - Cleary is back from his 2 game suspension and he is now a POD at just 8.6% ownership. If you have the trades he could be a player to bring in, but the Panthers do have some tough matchups coming up against the Eels and Storm.
Cody Walker- Like Clearly, Cody Walker is also back from suspension and he has the Gold Coast Titans this week and the Warriors in Round 7. The Bunnies have really missed him and need him to stand up and spark their attack, and did I mention he is at just 2.4% ownership?
Kurt Capewell- Played the entire game in the backrow, scoring 58 points in pure base against the Warriors. He and Isaah Yeo look to have locked down their spots in the backrow and both have the CTW dual eligibility.
Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow - It’s Hammer Time! The Cowboys have named the most exciting youngster in rugby league to make his NRL debut against the Warriors and after impressing in the Nines, expect big things from him.
Reece Robson - Has won the starting hooking role at the Cowboys and has been impressive with some explosive speed out of dummy half. Could be a player to keep an eye on.
LOSERS
Thomas Flegler and Jamil Hopoate - The Broncos cheapies have been benched and dropped respectively after a reshuffle with the team desperate to turn their recent form around.
Billy Walters - Walters has lost his starting spot to Harry Grant and was not named to play this week. He has made some decent cash but it’s time for him to go.
Blayke Brailey - Brailey saw his minutes drop last week and is no longer locked in for 80 minutes a game and really needs the big game time for decent points.
Will Kennedy - Has lost the starting fullback spot at the Sharks with Matt Moylan returning to the No.1 jersey, and Chad Townsend returning to the halves.
Matt Burton - The return of Cleary means he has lost his spot at the team and has been benched. With a breakeven of -71 he is worth keeping an eye on, but bench backs aren’t usually SuperCoach relevant.
Anthony Milford - The milf is in horrible form at the moment with scores of 16 and 14 in his last two games and simply has to go if you own him.
Jason Taumalolo - Was only named in the reserves for Round 5 due to the bone bruising that ruled him out last week. He is still a chance to play this week but don’t count on him if you have others you can play.
Brayden Williame- Has not been named after picking up an injury against the Bulldogs and is another player you need to move on.
Ben Hampton - Likewise Ben Hampton was also not named for the Cowboys and was a popular cheapie option, but has been dropped.

SuperCoach news: Tariq Sims is out of the Dragons in a surprise move which sees Tyrell Fuimaono called back into the squad and handed a start in the number 12 jersey. Brayden Wiliame is out after failing to finish last week’s game due to a calf injury with his spot in the centres taken up by Euan Aitken and Matt Dufty promoted to the interchange bench in place of Aitken.
There's a couple pros and cons with Grant at this point of time which I was discussing with an SC mad mate. Grant is actually on loan from the Melbourne Storm and could be whisked away at any point in the season from the Tigers. However, with Billy Walters not in the 17, this opens up Grant to play potentially 80 minutes at hooker which could see some keeper type scores from him to go with the bumper start he has already had.
His BE is -91, so he's in for a seriously large price rise this round, which could be as high as 120K if he pumps out another 70+ score, to go with another negative BE for the next week. That could be anywhere from 130-180K in rises in 2 weeks time. Thinking that the potential rewards are definitely worth taking the risk, and with your strong rank, downgrading Cam Smith is definitely not a terrible option when you have Koroisau on your bench as well. Smith's price shouldn't change dramatically either so you can potentially create an extra premium within 5 weeks if Grant keeps going the way he is. And who knows, Grant could prove to be a keeper if he isn't brought back into the Storm squad as he's getting NRL matches under his belt (especially if it is as an 80 minute player).
Verdict: I'd 100% be doing what you have planned @lappinitup. This is one of those bird in the hand situations that doesn't come around too often. I think we'd all be remiss to be not grabbing him if we are able.

With Walters not being named the Grant selection becomes more enticing. As for bringing Best I’d look to trade one of Miski, Wilton (via Fuimaono) or Kennedy (omitted). This means you should have around $700,000 for the coming rounds and I’d look to develop a plan for the ideal targets and trade-outs to ensure the cash is efficiently utilised.

If Best was named, he was always coming in. So that wasn't really ever a Q. The big question is dumping Smith for Grant.
I feel the potential 100k lost by waiting a week, isn't worth waiting - as they are scoring similar at this point in time (yes i know Smith has far more runs on the board!). Grant for 3 weeks could net be 250k, which saves a trade long term. Then hope the upgrades made elsewhere o***ets any point loss or even beats it.

Happy to help as always. Thoroughly enjoy providing alternative trades in the majority of SC and RDT formats which coaches haven't considered. I assume a player of your SC pedigree has a rough plan mapped out for the use of the $700,000+ and will be very interested to see how you utilise it, as too often players seem to accumulate a large bank for the sake of it without any solid plan.

Pretty sure Katoa had a few errors last round so that impacted his score somewhat. Remember he crossed for a meat pie the game before as well so 40-50 will probably be his average unless he gets some attacking stats.
As for who to play, I couldn't really give you too much to go off as Fui's minutes are up in the air as are Musgrove's. Katoa probably has a more secure role so might be the safe bet.
