I was thinking about Danger as a footballer the other day and where I would place him in history. I think he is a bit over rated. Before I get bashed I still think he is a very good footballer but I would rate Simon Black, Sam Mitchell, Dusty, Pendles and maybe even JPK as better footballers just off the top of my head.
He is an athletic beast and a bull in the traffic, but I don't think he is as team minded as others and his decision making and delivery is not elite. He often explodes out of a pack and bombs the ball forward which is spectacular to watch but also easy for the opposition defenders to pick off.
He's still got time to prove me wrong though.
Little bit harsh on Danger I think there. He is the highest brownlow vote per game player in the history of the game for anyone with over 200 games at 0.9 votes per game. Dusty is 0.83, Ablett jnr at 0.81 (from over 300 games...), Judd 0.8, Swan 0.78, SMitchell & Selwood at 0.75, Pendles at 0.7, S Black @ 0.61. JPK @ 0.6 isn't in the conversation of those above, albeit a fine footballer.
Neither Selwood or Pendles have a brownlow or an MVP. Swan 3 B&F and 5 AA vs Danger 4 & 7 (both have a brownlow and an MVP). He'd only be behind Ablett & Judd for certain, and Mitch probably has him with the 4x premierships. 2-3 more big years from Dusty and he could surpass all of them.
