did Shaw move Simpkin into the mids when he took over as coach last season , might work out his Scott & Shaw average for 2019 this week.
Simpkin per Prospectus moved to midfield in round 7 onwards. Ave 50 R1-5. Ave 81in the mids, excluding R13 when I think he was injured.

HT:
3 players with 10 or more Contested Possessions
J Simpkin 10
T Goldstein 7
L Parker 6

Rd1-2 J Simpkin= 22CP (11 in both)
Had 4 centre clearances as well.

Hasn't been on my radar till today, heard a few people on this site mentioning him in prior weeks.

Not including today:
10/44 games under Brad Scott with 10 or more contested possessions= 90.7 from 10
6/14 games under Rhyce Shaw with 10 or more contested possessions= 113 from 6

After today will be 7/15 games under Shaw with 10+CP.
Round 1 - 11

65 , 35 , 56 , 54 , 40 , DNP , 100 , 77 , 100 , 63 , 95

= 685 @ 68.5

Round 12 - 23

90 , 19 , BYE , 106 , 125 , 61 , 78 , 51 , 62 , 38 , 117 , 49

= 796 @ 72.36

For some reason Wikipedia has Shaw only coaching 11 games last season but says Scott was replaced after Round 10 , did Crocker or McDonald coach for 1 game in between ?

Was so close to going Doedee to Simpkin today... would have thrown my side balance out though.

Traded Naismith to Pittonet instead.
Having watched Sinclair a bit closer this week, I think his movement around the ground is going to cost him getting selected next week. There's already been two occasions where Sydney haven't had a ruckman at a bounce already. Very amateur.

Aaron Hall the most selfish, goal hungry player in the league at the moment.
Throw in the fact he can't kick. Asking to be dropped.
Nothing new there. He has the odd big game to keep coaches interested but otherwise it's been the same thing for years. Selfish play, horrible kicking, no defensive effort at all.

Missed the McInerney late out. Stuck with taking the 50 for Pickett now. Guess it could be worse.

Glad to have Simpkin in my Lock and Load team at least. I wouldn't be surprised if that team outscored my main team sometimes this season.

I was actually hoping Grundy was out.

Downgrade to Pittonet and upgrade elswhere.

Plan to ride it out for 2-5 weeks and see where I landed. Huge risk, however at 700k plus and someone like Pitt sitting at the perfect time I deemed it worth it.

Now want to do the trade, however know it is just to big a risk to go without Grundy this week!
See when a former winner posts something like this my attention level lifts ?

Could certainly see the merit in doing it if it immediately allowed you to upgrade a problematic $ 275-300 k forward & defender to a fallen premium , otherwise you would be waiting a few weeks for the rookie cows to have mooed enough.

Is Gawn your other ruck ?
No he isn't - which makes the move too risky now that Grundy is a confirmed starter.

If he was out this week, he was gone. A huge risk, that sets you apart from a large group of people who held him.

Would 100% be in front after one week (upgrading a forward and already had Martin out).. it is all about risk / reward after that one week and timing on when you can get him back in.

Not happening now - Dusty may go...
Posted this question in Rd 3 Trades thread a little earlier:

Thinking about short term (self inflicted) carnage option with my second trade this week. Strongly considering selling Grundy (I know!) and buying Pittonet (to field at R2 with Gawn). Have Ceglar/Combden combo to loop Ceglar into rucks and bench Pittonet if Pittonet doesn't perform to expectations in the next few weeks. Also still leaves me with Neale / Gawn as two viable VC/C options. The move gives me enough to upgrade three mid pricers to keepers over the next few weeks. Even estimating 50 point deficit between Pittonet and Grundy each week over the next month the points difference will be negligible (but obviously greater the first couple of weeks). Huge risk, big potential reward.

Anyone care to talk me out of it?
