Good Chance this happens again. Whatever SC end up doing some will be happy some upset. For me Best 18 scores regardless of position. Either on field or Bench.
Surprised SC didn’t foresee this happening and inform all coaches of procedure, prior to round 2.

Pretty annoyed as I only have Rozee, Budarick, Rowell, Houston and Bewley to come. Then will add Picketts 50 to get 18 players. Miss on 'premo' scores of Viney and Dev Smith (like a few will) as well as a POD 'premo' in McGrath. So what looked like a potential to gain some ground will be now minimised.. oh well

If I was CD I’d come out and say rest of season is best 18 scorers. If the double game rounds occur you can include multiple scores from Ess/Melbourne players as part of your 18 scoring players for that round.

Not ideal but as close as I can come up with on how to level the playing field for everyone as this all plays out.
Everyone is focussing on the issues around the ESS/MEL game right now but this is only the beginning. Things will go awry in the fixturing of games for the rest of the season. Here's how it could play out... Western Australia seems unlikely to relax their quarantine restrictions for AFL players, so when FRE/WCE players return they will have to quarantine for two weeks before playing. WCE is refusing to participate in more hubs, so whoever is going to play them will have to enter a WA hub. It makes most sense for the first two such teams to go over and quarantine for two weeks at the same time as WCE/FRE are quarantined (or one week later, since the first game back in WA is likely to be WCE v FRE). So suppose two VIC teams do that. That's at least two teams out each week for at least 3 weeks. What will that do to our SC scoring? That's likely to become a rolling issue with two teams going over to WA to quarantine every two weeks - unless WCE can be persuaded to stay in eastern state hubs - which seems unlikely given Simpson's tantrums on the issue and WCE poor hub form. So possibly at least two teams out every week for the rest of the season after the current scheduled games are completed. SA could present a similar problem if covid19 cases in VIC continue at higher than acceptable levels and SA revokes its quarantine exemption for AFL players coming in from VIC. Add in further problems if any more players test positive - a likelihood given we already have one after only two weeks of resumed play. Add in that we are likely to have very little advance notice of changes to any schedule that is announced. It's going to be carnage for the rest of the year. Winning SC this year will be like winning Powerball - pure dumb luck. Going to best 18 will make sense. If indeed there are rolling byes with 2 or more teams out every week, they may need to go further than that.

Played: T Mitchell, M Pickett, J Macrae, C Taylor, B Grundy (C), J Noble, J Howe, D Hannebery, B Long, M Pittonet, S Docherty, P Cripps, P Dangerfield, J Brander and B Starcevich.

Yet to play: R Laird, M Rowell, A Brayshaw, L Ryan, C Rozee
Ess and Melb players: D Smith and C Petracca

Was sitting pretty with no Martin and no Whitfield along with J Kelly traded to C Rozee coming into the Saturday games until the unfortunate news. No Neale is inflicting more pain due to 2 consecutive captain scores under 105 and poor showings from the majority of my 5 midfield premiums selected over Neale (T Mitchell, J Kelly, J Macrae, P Dangerfield and P Cripps). Cannot remember why I passed on him as I like his consistency and durability and was cautious about Mitchell’s return but ah well.

Congratulations to those who selected Simpkin this round. I have been very keen on him since the resumption of the season and he was very unlucky to miss out on replacing Kelly this round. He will likely replace Long next round as was the plan with the Rozee selection but I am very tempted to turn Danger into Neale and Long into D Butler allowing Butler as a quick avenue to Whitfield in the coming rounds. Simpkin can still be selected soon via Hannebery or Brayshaw.

Do I get Pittos score? -> YES, Gawn has now been marked as having a bye in this round, so the emergency score will be counted.
Do I get Neale as C now? (Davis non player in forwards, Sturt E) -> YES, why would you think that would change from a normal VC loop?
Does Whitfields 8 drop out? YES, if his score is outside your top 18 scores for the round.
How do I maximise my score this week? You've already done everything you can to maximise your score for the week.
thanks mate, was pretty sure on the VC Neale, just confirming, cheers.

I don’t believe that we have heard the end of this.

The AFL not only made a decision very early to cut the season to 17 rounds but also left it open to go well beyond September. In addition, they are only releasing the fixture In four week blocks.

It might be a day or two away before they tell us plebs, but I think they have thought about this exact scenario that has just happened.
Looking as if after Round 4 could be a 14 day break.

Don't count your chickens too soon. From memory from previous years they double your captain score first, e.g. 8 doubled becomes 16, so if if the 16 is not in your top 18 scores it drops out. Your VC does not double as your C has played.
No, what I'm saying is... Whitfield was never my captain in the first place. He was my VC. I was joking about using the loophole to take his score. Neale had the big orange C for my team this week.

Lads, I’m thinking of shifting Petracca for Rozee. But of a why the hell not move. Thoughts? Or do I just hope to benefit down the line?

We had the calm (isolation period) now the storm.

I feel like it would be a waste of a trade man. Both are benefitting to shortened quarters, but I love the fact that Petracca is playing full inside. I would keep Petracca and maybe get Rozee in another way :)

If this has been covered previously apologies in advance. When the postponed game is played will the player scores be counted in SC? I would hope not.
