Who would have thought Fan Hub would come out on top with the way they are handling this situation.

"The 44 Bombers and Demons players selected as of Friday night's full lockout will be awarded their 2020 average for round three."

"In 2015, the Geelong v Adelaide match was cancelled in the wake of Crows coach Phil Walsh's death. Average scores were awarded and there was a hold on price movements with the 'average' score not included in future price calculations.

These rules will also apply for this weekend."

How does that make it fairer for the next time? Any solution will be good for some and bad for others.

Even if you know in advance what the resolution is, it depends entirely on how many players you own.

It's consistent with what they have done in the past, and imo the fairest outcome.... It's just compounded this week because of all the other carnage, which is what it is.

Best 18 allows from 2 players from Mel/ Ess... Most people wouldn't own more than 3 players from the same club.
6 for me including captain

What do Ham , McKenna & Vandenberg score then ?

Just curious
"Conor McKenna, Brayden Ham, Aaron vandenBerg and Mitch Hannan were selected for their first game this season and their score will reflect their 2019 average – adjusted by 80 per cent due to the shortened quarters."

So not ideal... But I feel It's far fairer than what SuperCoach has come up with.

AFL Fantasy has a Friday night lockout, so they can use that solution; rolling lockout does not allow for that to be done.

You could trade in Gawn and pop on the Captaincy to improve your score knowing you have a guaranteed 138.

Terrible idea. You can't seriously think that giving players a set pre-game score that they will definitely reach is a good idea. And that's putting aside with all the other issues with the 3300 point system.

I keep saying that different systems can use different solutions.

The whole fun of SuperCoach is the randomness and chaos. Super premo scoring 6, second gamer scoring 170. Selection table, injury and suspension dramas.

Best 18 is the fairest solution, not gift everyone their 2019 average. That would open the door to a whole world of exploitation. Trade someone in for one game for a certain 120??

For the people bleeding so hard about it this week... next time you may not be impacted at all, will you still be campaigning this hard?

LITS your situation is very individual. You have a sub par vc, coulda gone neale like so many others did, and are heavy on these teams with 6. It's unfortunate, but ask yourself if you would be campaigning this hard if you had 2 players and neale cap?

SuperCoach is navigating the swing a and roundabouts.

You can lockout players from Dees/Ess, easy solution.

And that's a terrible idea too; what if players wanted to trade ESS/MEL players out? I myself traded BZT to Pitto (granted, before the cancellation), but what if someone wanted to trade Hamill in or something?

I will admit that I definitely benefit from best 18; not as much as some I suspect, and I definitely don't blame people for being upset for losing their advantage somewhat, but I've yet to see a solution that's better than what SC have come up with.

But really, anyone going into SC this year with any more than two players from one team was a masochist and only has themselves to blame, it's not like this sort of situation was logically unpredictable.
This!

Nobody could predict this, but you could predict SOMETHING was going to impact one or more clubs so diversity was always going to minimize your exposure.

The rule was not announced before this happened. Going forward your point applies but without any clarity on the rules, how were people to know that having too many players from one side would be disadvantagous?

People who had Melb and Ess players this week should've been given 2 or 3 extra trades but could obviously only able to pick from the remaining 4 teams players to replace them with and the $$ they had. Could then replace as like for like as possible. (Ie Oliver > Fyfe or Bennell > Sturt etc..).. dunno, just way too many variables

They could be locked out only from being traded in.

I would not want it here because I don't want Covid 19 imported.
Then you guys will have border lock-down for the next 5 years cause CV-19 ain't going to magically disappear any time soon.
A win for WA I guess ;).

Heard the other day that with all the rain we've had, we can look forward to a plague of locusts in a few months time also
Happening in India right now unfortunately...famine possible next on top of everything else :(.

Melbourne Airport, as well as Essendon training/HQ, are in one of the local zone lockdown exclusion areas that are seriously being touted so could we see both shut down?

Not that simple. Where do they draw the line (time wise) on a lockout of ESS and MEL players?
In between the rumour/news/announcement and SC making their decision, people could've still traded in the Gawn's/Petracca's/Merrett's/Shiels/etc.

I've been impacted pretty heavily by not only missing premiums and rookies/cash gen, bypassed Neale as C, and others with less will now be able to take advantage of the DGW, etc. etc.

No matter what decision they made there's always going to be anger from one side or another. Just need to roll with the punches on it I think this year and make the most of what you can. It's annoying, its frustrating. But what can we do.

Also, I think the suggestion of giving players their 'average' score (after 2 games) is absolutely ludicrous.

Anyway, bring on GCS vs. ADE. :)
