Not sure with the seemingly query on the Swan ruck situation now whether to bring in Naismith as R3 now or not.

Might be better off moving Jacobs & Noble on to try and boost my onfield scoring.

Decisions , decisions

Very limited options for me after last week. Probably only looking at Sturt/Davis > Rivers swinging Brander fwd.

Unless there are some other compelling mid or forward rookies, that's all.

Sounds so silly to put it down to one player, but the missed cash generation (no matter how little it may have been) on Jacob Townsend (of all players) has genuinely set my side back a week in getting my first upgrade done. Through no fault of his own either.

I could of sworn I saw somewhere that it was 4 weeks, but having a look back now I can't find anything o_O
GEELONG is preparing to be without Rhys Stanley for several weeks after spraining his medial ligament in last Saturday’s shock loss to Carlton.

Coach Chris Scott is hopeful he only misses Sunday’s clash with Melbourne.

“But the likely outcome is that it will be weeks,” Scott said.

“Maybe, on the really optimistic end, it’s just this week … after that, we’re not so sure.

“At the other end of the spectrum, we’re very, very confident it’s not a long-term thing.

“Where that fits in the middle, we’re not too sure.

Darcy Fort, who played in the Round 1 loss to the GWS Giants on March 21 is the logical replacement for Stanley.

However, Scott hasn’t ruled out Esava Ratugolea taking the role after a solid final quarter performance against the Blues.

“We always thought that Esava would grow into at least having the option up his sleeve of just being a ruckman,” Scott said.

“Actually, that’s not true; he’d never just be a ruckman because he’s such a competent forward.

“But, he’s a developing player in every sense of the word, and really trying to develop in two positions that are hard to play.

“If we chose to play Esava at some stage as our No.1 ruckman, we’d go in with confidence.”

Scott also didn’t put a line through All-Australian defender Mark Blicavs playing the role.

“‘Blitz’ could play a number of positions,” Scott said. “It’s more a question of us saying “bring the balance back to what’s best for Mark” because he’s go-to is “what’s best for the team?” – he’ll play any role.

“He could play on-ball, he could play in the ruck, he could play on the wing, play forward or back.

“This is going to be an unusual year where we’re going to have to stay flexible with our planning.

“The plan was to play him back virtually all the time, but if the team needs dictate he’s got to move, then we’ll do it.”

I would definitely get Fort if I knew there were at least 4 games for him, but this muddies the waters a bit. You'd hate to bring in Fort, only for him to score 40 against Gawn and then Stanley is ready to return the week after.

Losing interest

might just go :-

Jacobs - > Ceglar (via D Cameron)

who knows what will happen this season , may need the F/R swing

Noble can stay and become Whifield in a few rounds.

I can't sort out which one of Simpkin/Petracca/B Smith/Greenwood/Wingard etc etc is the better option so will just watch thier progress unfold

How I'm seeing them FWIW:

1. Trac
2. Simpkin
3. B. Smith
4. Greenwood
5. Wingard

Really unsure of the right move this week, i have 250kin the bank so im thinking:

Im thinking either :

Sturt -> petracca
Noble -> Hamil/ Williamson
62k left

Sturt -> Hamil / Williamson (through Brander)
B.Williams -> Starcevich
174k left

C.Taylor -> Petracca
Sturt -> Hamil / Williamson
29.7k Left

Not sure if its too late for Starcevich to be worth it, esp with quite a few def rookies named and not being able to directly upgrade sturt. And petracca could be simpkin/b.smith too.

Cheers could've , would've , should've started 2 of them instead of Greene & TJL (no idea which)

I guess (so far) they are all getting that extra mid time that was talked about preseason.

I need a spot for Whitfield & probably Dusty.

Anyone have any confidence that Hamill will hang around?
I actually didn't mind the look of him , tried to take the game on with a bit of run , something certainly the Crows need.

I doubt Nicks visits here , but they certainly need to get some games into these players.

Interestingly they had 11 of their 2017 GF side playing on the weekend , so maybe it's the senior players that is the issue

It is definitely the senior players that are the issue and the youngsters are way behind in their development as they should have cleared the decks a year earlier than they did. Rookies should get plenty of chances you would think. I hope they hold Sholl back a few weeks as he will be a great downgrade option as he knows how to find a sherrin. I don't mind hamill but also think we could wait a week and it won't break the bank.

Must be something going on at West Lakes.

I have dropped Crouch , Lynch , Seedsman , Smith & Walker so far (won't happen).

Was reading that the 2nd - 4th year types don't look likely but they probably need 10 games to see what they can do , Galluci , Himmelberg , Poholke etc etc

Get Frampton then play him.

Watched the SANFL a few times last season and that Sholl was impressive

Not sure how MacPherson is tracking , Schoenberg was another talked highly of preseason.

If Fort doesn't get a game, I'll be trading him out as he's unlikely to get games if Scott is even talking about using Ratagolea as a primary ruck...

Reckon the ship has sailed on starc personally.

I like option 3 of those you’ve suggested mate. Gets rid of dead wood and gets a rookie score off the field

The issue with Naismith as I see it, is that he is no longer a solo ruck. Sinclair and McLean both rucked for the Swans last week, and neither got dropped, so I’m not sure Naismith tons up this week, maybe 80’s is a more realistic expectation. If you have him great, but I think he is a questionable trade in target given his injury history and a crowded Swans ruck.
Fair points. I have Naismith already at R3 with Pittonet at R2. Not sure I expect 105 from Naismith as Vicwood suggested, although, not sure Sinclair will get ruck time either. Did McLean get ruck time as Sinclair was awful. Expect we will know the answer by tomorrow! ;)

Yes Good Points. I was all for the trade to Naismith until I saw McLean inclusion. First thought was Naismith hammy still not 100%. Almost certain I’ll keep 2nd trade for Rivers, unless the unexpected happens.
