Thinking I will swap Jacobs to either Doedee, Williams or Ridley by DPP moves - swaying toward Ridley. Then Sturt to Simpkin, or could go HOuston to Simpkin too by DPP moves... I've checked it works, just needs to go through before the Friday night game, so that should give me time to see extended benches, right? Also, in case selection

I actually didn't mind the look of him , tried to take the game on with a bit of run , something certainly the Crows need.

I doubt Nicks visits here , but they certainly need to get some games into these players.

Interestingly they had 11 of their 2017 GF side playing on the weekend , so maybe it's the senior players that is the issue
The crows structure in the last quarter, I thought looked ok. Coach finally positioned players in correct positions. They need some speed on the wings and for someone to roll their sleeves up and win the ball at stoppages. Going to be a few years until the see finals footy again.

Must be something going on at West Lakes.

I have dropped Crouch , Lynch , Seedsman , Smith & Walker so far (won't happen).

Was reading that the 2nd - 4th year types don't look likely but they probably need 10 games to see what they can do , Galluci , Himmelberg , Poholke etc etc

Get Frampton then play him.

Watched the SANFL a few times last season and that Sholl was impressive

Not sure how MacPherson is tracking , Schoenberg was another talked highly of preseason.
Yeah the funny thing is they won't throw Mchenry and Jones in the guts but they get beaten up around the contest by first and second year mids like Rozee and Rowell! Schoenberg another one that could do well for us in SC if they just give him a crack in the mids later in the yar.

I think the senior crows went through so much with the tragedy of PW and it galvanised them to lift them to what would have been an amazing flag considering this in particular. it has been an emotional ride for them and maybe they are just spent in particular with all the negativity of the last 18 months or so. I think a huge clearout is needed for everyone's sake (Fagan and Chappy too) and keeping a very core set of leaders to build the next generation. Guys like the crouch bros, lynch, luke brown etc... they could all have a few great years at a good club. TIme to finish last, rebuild the fun and culture and go again for a flag in 5 years or so.

I must have been watching something else , I swore Jones was on WOWell the last quarter but Nicks said Keays had the job , Seedsman ran with him in the third but think he and Smith are better off on the wings.

They need to do add X to Crouch , Sloane in the centre square , not sure who X is.

I wonder if Laird is worth throwing in the middle

Curious to see if Nicks swings the axe tonight or not.

I really thought that X would be Smith/Milera/jones but it seems to have been Atkins/Keays/Seedsman :sick: I think at one stage early the clearances were like 12 zip!

Few options I’m considering. Only 4.8k itb atm.

1) Grundy/Sturt to Naismith/Simpkin (moves Pittonet to R2)
2) Grundy/Sturt to Simpkin/Butler (moves Pittonet to R2)
3) Whitfield/Sturt to Simpkin/Williamson
4) Sturt to Williamson. Hold 1 trade.
5) Hold both trades, wait for cows to mature.

Don’t see many rookies I’m really missing but stuck playing 3 of Mcinerney, Brown, Pickett, Budarick, Bennell, McHenry in mids.

GEELONG is preparing to be without Rhys Stanley for several weeks after spraining his medial ligament in last Saturday’s shock loss to Carlton.

Coach Chris Scott is hopeful he only misses Sunday’s clash with Melbourne.

“But the likely outcome is that it will be weeks,” Scott said.

“Maybe, on the really optimistic end, it’s just this week … after that, we’re not so sure.

“At the other end of the spectrum, we’re very, very confident it’s not a long-term thing.

“Where that fits in the middle, we’re not too sure.

Darcy Fort, who played in the Round 1 loss to the GWS Giants on March 21 is the logical replacement for Stanley.

However, Scott hasn’t ruled out Esava Ratugolea taking the role after a solid final quarter performance against the Blues.

“We always thought that Esava would grow into at least having the option up his sleeve of just being a ruckman,” Scott said.

“Actually, that’s not true; he’d never just be a ruckman because he’s such a competent forward.

“But, he’s a developing player in every sense of the word, and really trying to develop in two positions that are hard to play.

“If we chose to play Esava at some stage as our No.1 ruckman, we’d go in with confidence.”

Scott also didn’t put a line through All-Australian defender Mark Blicavs playing the role.

“‘Blitz’ could play a number of positions,” Scott said. “It’s more a question of us saying “bring the balance back to what’s best for Mark” because he’s go-to is “what’s best for the team?” – he’ll play any role.

“He could play on-ball, he could play in the ruck, he could play on the wing, play forward or back.

“This is going to be an unusual year where we’re going to have to stay flexible with our planning.

“The plan was to play him back virtually all the time, but if the team needs dictate he’s got to move, then we’ll do it.”

I would definitely get Fort if I knew there were at least 4 games for him, but this muddies the waters a bit. You'd hate to bring in Fort, only for him to score 40 against Gawn and then Stanley is ready to return the week after.
I do not like the coach
Yes Good Points. I was all for the trade to Naismith until I saw McLean inclusion. First thought was Naismith hammy still not 100%. Almost certain I’ll keep 2nd trade for Rivers, unless the unexpected happens.
They only kept the other 2 as Mcartin ruled out leaving Blakey as the lone tall up fwd. They are gonna try to expose the Bullies defence with only Keath,Cordy the talls.

12 zip then Sloane won one.

But was the same issue in the Sydney game and the Showdown , so now 3 games in a row , surely he has to change something now.

I was big on Milera but even before his latest injury , they seemed to throw him around too much.

See Seedsman & Smith as outside and deliverers of the ball.

Jury still out on Jones.

I think Dunkley probably has to go, and would suggest you keep Dusty, the rest are more flexible in my view.

I'd suggest looking at the best premium you can get for Dunks, including via DPP and considering how bad the rookie that goes off the field is, and then assess from there.

Would need to see your whole team, mate.

Also, there's a looooooooot of Cams in the comp. Of those, the likeliest to be dropped is maybe Darcy? Also, are Dusty and Whitfield still injured? Think not, So you only have two definites, and one maybe. Dunkley to your fav mid... I'd be going to Merrett, Shiel, or Oliver. You can keep Sturt for a week if you need a loophole, but depends on whether Darcy is dropped. You'd keep Darcy otherwise, as he's more likely to play than the injured Sturt.

For Darcy, You can replace him with whoever you can afford and will likely gain cash (same for Sturt).

Of course, I'm coming in the top 30,000 so I must know my sheet. :)
What does Bank + Dunkley + Sturt give you to play with ?

Less eg Dan Butler

Dusty and Whitfield are good to go are they not?

Thanks guys.
Fingers crossed that Dusty & Whitfield have recovered and are named in the line-ups tonight.

If they are good to go, then I've thought of the scenarios below:

Dunkley --> Simpkin
Darcy Cameron/Sturt --> Doedee (move Brander to forwards)

A bit hesitant to bring Doedee in and not too keen on Dan Butler (from St.Kila) either. Problem is if I don't make a second trade, then I'll likely only have 5 fit forwards this week.
Another possibility is I could trade out Cameron/Sturt, shift Budarick to forwards, and bring in a midfielder valued up to 360k. Can't think of anyone good...

Geez they had a massive cleanout of players before this season , wonder how many more they cull.

Ship the Crouch's off for draft picks and rebuild maybe ?

Tex needs to retire.

I thought Chapman said this is his last year , Roo might just take over everything.

Interestingly Channel 7 has been fairly quiet about the Crows so far.

Was sticking firm on Whitfield but trading him and Long allows me to bring in Simpkin and Petracca/Wingard/Rozee.

Is tempting.

But if he is named will likely stick with the original plan:
Mcasey > Williamson
Long > Simpkin

Laird actually played in the guts late in the game with Keays running with Rowell. I would love to see Fogarty(mid not ruck) and Murphy thrown in there at times.

I might have had a little nanna's nap during the final quarter by the sounds of things

Yup if I were the crows I would try lure Hately with a compo pick after letting B.Crouch go. Then try trade pick 1 into 4 top 30 picks and just target midfielders as they got their talls in Butts,Mcasey,Worrell,Forgarty,Himmelberg.
