T Mitchell VS M DeBoer
RD15 2018: T Mitchell 50 Disposals and 13 Tackles for 181 SC
RD16 2017: T Mitchell 39 Disposals and 9 Tackles for 130 SC

Averages 44.5 Disposals and 11 Tackles for 155.5 SC
Surely De boer didnt go anywhere near Mitchell that 50 disposal day haha. They had lots of Midfielders at GWS that year so might not have played in the centre. Coniglio,Ward+ Shiel were in the midfield alot that day.
In 2017 was he even a tagger?

Just looked at these games in the FanFooty archives and there's no signs that DeBoer actually tagged Mitchell either of those games. Obviously not the most reliable source going, but they're usually pretty good when it comes to pointing out hard tags.

Impact over-exaggerated and it is not a given that he heads to Mitchell. From memory DeBoer was used more as a pressure forward than tagger in the aforementioned matchups.

Since moving to Hawthorn
T Mitchell:
4/48 matches below 90 SC
8/48 below 100 SC
123.08 from 48
34.69 disposals per game

Fyfe owner....are we trading or keeping him?

If I knew whether it would be 2 or three weeks that would be helpful...its right on the borderline for me.

2 weeks he probably stays, but 3 weeks he's definitely out.

If the player obviously has no prior opportunity (eg gets wrapped up immediately after taking possession), it should be a ball up regardless if the player makes an attempt to dispose of the footy or not. He shouldn't have to wriggle around like a dead fish to convince the ump. It's pretty obvious IMO if he has had prior, then decides to just hold the footy and make a poor attempt to handballl while he has a vice like grip on the footy, then that is a clear holding the ball. There are some circumstances which could go either way, then just give the player the benefit and ball up. It is frustrating watching the umpie ball it up when it is a clear holding the ball. My two cents.

Brought Fyfe in last weekend, think we trade him. whether it is 2 or 3 may not be the only factor.

Fyfe did his hammy in 2018, which was worse and more middle part of hammy. They said 3 weeks then, turned out him missed 6. Had one good game back then threw up a sub 70 in game 2, mainly playing forward. Clearly wasn't fit and wasn't conditioned.

so you are taking a risk he takes longer and then cannot get back to full conditioning and throws up a poor score.

Really having trouble settling on a decision this week. I've gone through 6 or 7 possible players.
Rookies not giving us much cash to spend so budget picks look like part of the equation.
I'm not sure Ridley maintains that scoring but he probably gives me Whitfield the following week.
Now thinking of Hurn in anticipation of a nice run at Burswood but means Whitfield in 2 weeks time.
Or double down to Hill.
New players this week will have an influence.
We have Hibberd. If there is another potential good one it will be probably be an upgrade this week and double down the following week.

I'm even undecided whether this should be in the trade or rant thread!

I'd prefer they concentrate more on the 'disposals' players get away with. Dropping or throwing the ball away is ignored far too often, especially for certain players (Oliver for example). If it looks a bit like a handball or the player drops the ball near their foot it's been play on for quite some time.

Great post and exactly why I’m nervous about the idea of holding him. Don’t think I will be.
